This was the trophy case in his living room, i swear i spent HOURS digging through it. He used to get pissed and holler, "Stewart, leave that shit alone!" lol It was during a tough time in both our lives.

One more Magoo story then ill stop...

I gave him shit about wearing these ugly ass Lazer helmets, his comeback...."they paid me 20k!"

EXACTLY!!!!! makes up for all the shit usually on here..............and I'm no saint as I participate sometimes because I can't help myself..........but this is what is best...........epic MX action!!!!!

Man the eighties, must have been a great time to be racing the nationals! When men were men!

I never even thought to ask for anything, it was more like just staying at a friends house...i would dig through boxes he had in a closet of old jerseys, goggles etc etc. all kinds of random stuff.

The best was the box of VHS tapes, his wife Tracey video taped pretty much every single race he was in, i would sit for days on end watching old races. He would get pretty pissed off sometimes, "dude turn that shit off!" Like i said, it was a pretty tough time....but after a few drinks he would sometimes sit and watch them w/ me and describe every little detail. I will never forget those times!!!

Then there was the time we loaded about 8 of us in his van and headed down to a Grateful Dead show and bought a sheet of acid......OH MAN!! There are no words to explain LOL There was a lot going on back then....it was the late 80's and we both were still in denial over our accidents...dude we partied like rockstars!

Hey OC, I just posted in the memorial thread, Did you ever get to ride in a rental car with him? He was nuts. Scared me to death as a youngster. Funny thing was he thought I was crazy for dirttracking. Funny stuff. Magoo was awesome.

BL, speaking of that helmet, you cant see it in that pic of his trophy case, but there was a shelf across the top that was lined w/ helmets, pretty sure that one was up there.

OH and speaking of giving out "personal things"...one night there was a bunch of people over partying, and this chick wanted a jersey....he made her "earn it" by dancing for us. Good times!

My time w/ him was after his accident. But i can guarantee you that driving in his van was just as scary! his g/f would sit on a crate in between the seats just in case he fell out of his seat while driving LOL

...and get this, he drove w/ the same hand controls as i do...and he was a quad!!! For those that are not aware of the difference in injuries....lets just say he is prob the only person on the planet that could drive the way he did, it was mind boggling.

He told me all the rental car stories though, like how he turned one into a banana jumping it off a loading dock lol

Did you ever hear the stories about his Porsche? Now those were down right scary stories!

When they first started doing the Racer X Motocross Shows I used to watch em over and over again because they were always shot from crowd level, whereas now they just show highlights from the TV broadcast. It made me feel like I was watching up close at all 12 rounds. These photos do the same!

OC, the porsche stories were crazy but so was he. When I got national #34 in dirttrack, I told my dad to put a big thanks Magoo sticker on my # plates. I'll see if dad still has any pics. I got to spend a little bit of time with him here in Kansas way back in the day when he rode for a little store called BJ's cycles I think it was.
