Monster Mountain is practicing Friday and Saturday, then racing Sunday. If you're in the South and on your way to Lorettas, stop in an race with us. Each year we get a bunch of riders that use this race as a Lorettas warm-up.
If you've never seen Monster Mountain, or have forgotten what it looks like, see the pics below.
When we get racing under way Sunday at Monster Mountain, the first gate drop will be our new "American Heroes" class which is open to active duty, retired, and former military and to active police and firefighters. It is free and is our way of honoring their commitment, service and sacrifice!
A lotta goose bumps when we announce each rider, what service they're from, play the national anthem, then fire 'em up and drop the gate.
The first time we ran it a few weeks back, we only had a few, but now we have people driving 5 and 6 hours to race in it.
You can go to our www.monstermx.com to see more about the class and this weekend's race. The same info is also available on our Facebook page.
In case you're wondering, the US Marine Corps narrowly won the inaugural American Heroes class over the US Air Force as former Marine Rick Carlisle from Salem, Alabama took home the win class aboard his RMZ450 over Panama City's USAF veteran Steve McIver aboard a YZ450F.
