I wasn't a fan of James' dog and pony show when he left Cleveland but after that, I've become a fan.

He just seems like a dude legitimately interested in winning championships over the biggest salary. I think it's pretty cool of him to put it to the Heat owners to get what he wants.

Fuck that guy. I never seen such a big dude fall over like a child against goliath.
Him and the rest of these guys who flop ruined that sport, I can't even stand to watch it anymore.

He has to if they want to be able to sign anyone worth signing. Wade and Bosh will need to opt out too, or at least one of them will need to. There is not way that all three can opt in and expect to be able to sign decent players. Not really a surprise that he opted out.

If Jerry Buss was still alive he would be a Laker, even still I think that might be where he winds up. I don't think Wade is going to want to cut his paycheck in half.

Why would he want to play with the Lakers? They don't have a team that can contend in the West and no one in their right mind wants to play with Kobe, an old Kobe at that that may not make it through the season. The Lakers would be a step down in terms of possibility of making it to the finals. The Heat's road is much easier and if all three opt out they could actually build a team that could compete for the title for a couple more years.

Man, that is some BAD acting. That's worse than the soccer players. The least he could do was time it better. Horrible.

First off LA is LA, not too much better than Miami but for a celeb it is. LA is one of the two best franchises in the sports history. They have some flexibility and with Nash retiring after next season they will be able to have more. Kobe's got one more run in him. If he doesn't go there he may go to the Clippers (Balmer will want to make a splash). If the Lakers don't get him they will get Durant when he is a free agent, and that might be their plan. As far as him staying with the Heat. That is more Wade's and to a lesser extent Bosh's decision than his. If they are willing to take significantly less money than of course he will stay, but I don't think that is going to happen, but maybe.

Cuban is willing to spend money and I'd love to have James as part of the Mavs. We need a staple player like him especially with Dirk nearing retirement. I don't think we have the existing talent needed to attract James but I know Cuban has at least bidded him up in the past.

LA WAS a great franchise when Dr. Buss was running it, but now............not so much. They over paid Kobe, they let one of the best big men in the game go, and all they have is role players. That ain't gonna get it for LaBron. Also, the Clippers are still owned by Donald Sterling and even if they weren't there are two very obvious problems with going to the Clippers. One, they would need to get rid of at least one key player to sign LaBron. Two, they are in the Western Conference. Why would you want to fight through the teams in the west when you can almost stamp a ticket to the finals for the couple few years with a couple of shooters in Miami?

Wade and Bosh will have to take serious pay cuts or creative salary restructuring for LeBron to stay.

The big 3 all made 20 million in TEAM SALARY EACH!

What stinks about this is they RESTED wade 28 games cuz his legs are toast and he still disappeared in the Finals.

San Antonio exposed all his weaknesses. That's like your coworker taking 1/3 of the year off making the same dough and come crunch time he sucks. Wade looked about 50% of his once all star status.

They are all saying LeBron will stay but I don't think getting a shooter or two will help that much.

Oh and Chalmers is a choke artist as well.

Getting Anthony won't help, he is not a team player.

LeBron needs to get out!

Could you imagine what Rose and James could do. . . . if Rose would ever play again.

I'm telling you not, he's not going to a team in the West and I say the only reason that he goes back to the Cavs is his wife being homesick. Chicago..........highly doubt it. Wade and Bosh will opt out. If they don't then they are signing up to go from heros to zeros.

Aren't Wade and Bosh nearing retirement age for basketball players? I personally think Lebron wants to stay in Miami but doesn't want to if the owner/ Wade/Bosh aren't going to do what's best for winning championships over monetary gains.

I think Lebron is doing this to hold all of their feet to the fire. And I have to applaud what he is doing.

Wade is 32, Bosh turned 30 earlier this year and LeBron is will be 30 later this year. Funny, they all were drafted in the same year (LeBron out of high school, Bosh after his freshman year and Wade after his sophmore year). They are still not that old in basketball years if you look at guys like Duncan. The only issue is Wade has the knees of a 45 year old.

Wade is broken down and Bosh isn't a max money player. If they don't take less LeBron will bounce but would prefer to stay if they find room to add players. Wade and Bosh will decide if LeBron leaves or not.

Oh, I agree. There was talks that Wade was going to opt out and sign a deal for something around $50 million for 4 years (not even sure his body can last another 4 years). Wade, Bosh and James met 2 days ago. We'll just have to wait and see how it plays out but I really don't see LeBron leaving Miami...........yet.

Yeah, that makes sense that Wade would extend for the same total amount.

Noooooo, Wade just has bad knees. Think about it, they went to the finals this year WITH a broken down Wade and they have been on a four year run. That's a hard stretch, that's why it has rarely been done. Also, they all took less money the first time around so I don't see why they wouldn't do the same this time as well. I think that Wade might be the only one that might hold out because he does have some much trouble with his knees, this might be his last contract.

They fact that they already left money on the table once could be their justification for not doing it again.

Doubt it. They have all been in the league long enough to have made the bulk of their money. It's about how many titles at this point. An extra $10 mil. a year isn't going to hurt any of them. If they can get some help they have at least two more years in them as a group, even with Wade's bad knees.

If Wade doesn't want to lower his pay to about 10 million then LeBron is gone. LeBron is the only one worth max money. It makes no sense for him to take less. He could get paid more somewhere else and have better players around him, i.e. LA

$10 mil is still $10 mil.
Would you turn it down...twice.
Especially if it was going to be your last contract (probably).

Lebron could give a double deuce about contract money....that's just for brag'n right....He makes more money in endorsement deals! i think it would be cool if he went back to the Cavs and got Cleveland a championship! I think he'll stay in Miami though!

I have heard plenty of athletes say a million dollars is still a million dollars no matter how much you already have. The thing is LeBron can go to other places and win too. there are plenty of teams that have players at or better than the other two where he could play.

All I know is a lotto shit's gonna go down in the coming days.

July 1st is the first day of Free Agency and that's when the wheels are in motion and moves are made.

I hope wade doesn't budge as it will give LeBron good reason to leave.

The Heat fans SUCK as they bail out early if there team gets behind.

The smartest move for LeBron is to go home to Cleveland, they have some good young players and just drafted the # 1 pick Wiggins.

Plus he won't get shredded so bad by ignorance fans who get all upset when LeBron packed his bags.

Well Lebron ain't one of um. People in the know/710 sports talk / Mike and Mike have been saying he opted out so he can take less money to get some more players to help the team! But if Wade and Bosh won't do the same he will leave1
