Moto XXX In The News!

Edited Date/Time 6/14/2014 11:48am
Well as im sure most of you know, and for those who do not, we are very stoked that Moto XXX was the featured cover story in the latest issue of Racer X Magazine (How To Start A Riot - The Moto XXX Story). It's an awesome six page spread and quite the original article too as all the pictures are illustrations drawn by artist Jeff Proctor. Steve Matthes has done an excellent job with this article and now the second part to this 3 part story has came out online. It can be read right here http://racerxonline.com/2014/06/10/moto-xxx-the-complete-oral-history
Thank you to Steve, DC, and all at Racer X for all this love. I am very proud of what we accomplished, and im very excited that we are back in business! Thanks to any and all Moto XXX fans out there...old and new

Cool! New album coming out soon by chance?

Smelly Erik will always have something to do with it as it was me and him that initially started Moto XXX. He is currently focused on his boxing gym "Long Beach United" that he opened up a few years ago and of course still busy with Nofx

Why did Kurt decline to be interviewed..im honestly not sure but, i thought it was a little strange but hey, that was his choice so, so be it..

Does Strung Out have a new album coming out? Yes we do, we are currently in the studio (well not me, i already finished my drum tracks) finishing up our new album. It will come out at the end of September and then it will be tour time...and yes we will be back to Canada.

Has anyone actually read the magazine and online articles? There are a few more online segments that will be released so, more history of Moto XXX coming in the near future!

I've read both segments to date, Jordan. They are interesting for sure! I really like those eyewitness-type retrospectives.
The illustrations in the magazine are amazing- Jeff Proctor is so talented.

I don't get the mag, but I read the online article. That was pretty damn interesting to read, lots of funny moments for sure! Can you imagine if someone forgot to put coolant in a pros bike today, heads would roll! It's pretty crazy to read about what happened back in the day, I think I was 3 years old when that was going down.

How long did Metzger ride for Moto XXX? Don't see him mentioned in the article. I still have a Moto XXX poster signed by Metzger and Deegan from the Houston SX. I think it was 1998? Somewhere I also have some pics I took of them signing posters and a few of their bikes.

Not sure why, we ended our deal at XXX on good terms (even though I think I was owed a little bit of expense money at the time) and I was mystified why he would never return emails or messages. I finally got him on the phone once and I could tell he didn't want to talk. He said he's moved on and was past the that phase in his life...then he said he would think about it and call me the next day. Of course the call never came. Really strange, not sure why he wouldn't talk.

Yeah that's strange, I'm really familiar with XXX and my buddy used them as a stepping stone to win a title a few years after, all great dudes and have a passion like no other for the sport. Spent a lot of time with them all and all were stand up dudes, Kurt included. To each is own I suppose.

I bet you were just fabulous!

Thanks to all those whom have read the articles and even picked up a copy(s) of the magazine. I of course love all the support we are getting with Moto XXX.

Although Metzger did ride for Moto XXX, it was unfortunately short lived when he returned to race the 1st national at Glen Helen, cant even recall what year, and crashed in the first turn and i think got stuck under Ray Crumbs rear wheel which was doing burnouts across Metzgers back. Gave him a gnarly injury and that was it. Dont think he ever raced again after that. We for sure had lots of good times filming with Metz though. Just check out "Training" in Moto XXX..him and Deegan back when nobody even knew it was them.

With Kurt, i think its nothing at all about being sour. Maybe i'll hit him up and see if i can find out why but i do think he was just over it. So be it...

Dirtnapper....what have you personally done for this fabulous sport of mx? Talked shit on a message board? Congratulations on your accomplishments!
