70's Kami... Doing a History... Need some help!

Yes, looks like it was cut.... also looks like it was badly bent and they cut it to try and straighten it. Any of these low $ bikes were likely to break a frame or bend if you were jumping it. likely what happened to this one.

Yea I don't think too much work either. A good washing to remove the dirt and it'll make a bike difference. There are just some cosmetics that need to be fixed that Iam aware right now. Because I haven't taken anything off the other two bikes to clean and. Check them out.

Just took one of the kamis out for a ride for the first time. It was fun and a great feeling to get her going well enough to ride. It still needs some carb adjusting but works great.

Thanks it's been fun working on them and I didn't know either. Not too bad of a sound for that little guy. Is yours a ka100 too? Or an 80?

I'm worried it's running too lean and not getting enough oil if it's getting any at all. How do you check the oil injection to make sure it's working? Is there a way to do that without taking it all apart to get to the pump?

Well for one 2 strokes smoke a lot and if it's not than thats not good.If you look under the carb you will see a clear line running out of the block to the intake and you should be able see oil in it.I actually just took my pump off earlier and the nipple for the output crumbled.Must be pretty crappy metal.My plan is to mix my own and do away with the pump.The pump is pretty easy to get to just remove the chain,four screws from the shifter cover and then the small plate beside the sproket.Note the small two screw cover on the shift cover will allow you to make sure that the shifter linkage goes back into the shift plunger when reinstalling.Be careful not to wiggle the cover until all screws are removed the studs on the block can break easy if you do.I found a pdf on the indiandirtbikeparts website that lists the mix for the fuji 100.I have to look for it can't remember off top of head.So that being said my plan is to leave the pump off and plug up the hole on the intake and mix my own fuel.I'll look at my pump tomorrow and see if it has any seals that will be a problem if it's removed but I don't think it should be a issue.Don't run it anymore until you are sure your getting oil.

You will also need to get a new throttle cable without the splitter(easy fix).

My fitting was broke too. I would mix 3/4 cup good NON SYNTH 2 stroke oil with a gallon of gas. That is what I used in my husqvarna Chain Saws and in my Lawn Boy mower. Even if its a bit too much oil all it will do is foul the plug. DO NOT USE ETHENOL (spell??) BLEND FUEL!! The alcohol breaks down the 2 stroke oil and will eventually cause damage to your motor. The carb parts dont like it either, nor the rubber inside the fuel shutoff. You can leave the cables all hooked up and just leave it "fake". Will still look OE but you lube from the fuel.

You could leave it hooked up but the pump uses the oil as lube also and will eventually sieze up.

The indian service manual for the fuji 100 says it uses a 20:1 ratio fuel mix.The pdf is on there site if you would like to see it.

Thanks for the advice Ill check it out when I get home. Maybe the throttle cabke for the pump is to loose aldo but I might just want to by pass it and not worry about it. I found tjose same pdfs on the indian site. If I were to bypass the pump would I need different sized jets because the carb isnt used to to the mix?

There is an adjustment on the oil pump cable.Prob should adjust so when at full throttle the pump is also max.I don't see any reason to change the jet.

I saw a video of a guy talking about the 2 stroke oil injections and he was saying he doesn't think they are self priming. Have any of you heard of this before? If so do you know how to prime the pump? I mixed the gas in my tank 20:1 so it oils while it's running so not to harm the motor and I started the bike didn't see any oil in the tube near the intake behind the carb.

I would drain the carb and let it refill to make sure you get mixed fuel in it before you run it.Those small engines can run awhile on a little fuel.Your output is prob broke.Did you take the oil can off and clean it out?The hose and pump may also be gummed up.Could you take some close up pics of your front and rear fenders and how they mount,lights,and any pics of the wiring with the oil tank or seat off?

It was getting the oil from the gas I. The tank I could see it. Smoking. A little while later I was out riding it to try and get the oil pump to engage or better engage at a higher speed and seems to have worked. Yea I took the 2 stroke oil tank and the gas tank off and cleaned them before I put fresh liquids in and I drained the existing 30 weight before replacing that as well. I wanted to have clean containers to make sure I wasn't harming the motor. I. Guess It just needed to be ride. More and at a hOgher speed but I'm glad I caught that it wasn't getting oil and added some. I'm for going to keep a watch out to make sure everything is working properly though.

I saw a wiring harness for an indian on ebay awhile ago. I know it's different but I was thinking I might could make it work if I needed too. Especially because they have diagrams for them and we don't have them for our. Kami

Yes, you do have to "prime" or "bleed" most 2 stroke oil pumps. I know how to do it on a Yamaha, but no idea on the Fuji. I didn't look at it that close when i had it apart either and they are in not such a nice place to see on the Fuji's. I would stick with the "premix" if were me. I didn't think about the oil pump not being lubed...... You could also take the pump out and just run the tubes and cable as "fakes" if you are concerned about originality. My $.02 worth!! Smile
