2007 yz 250

My friend recently bought a YZ 250. This is his first 2-stroke. After he bought it he was looking at it closer and realized that the hose coming off of the left side of the cylinder is not there. It is capped off. Here is a picture of what it should normally look like.

The hose coming out is not there. My question is, what is that hose for, and does he need to buy OEM parts for it to fix it before he rides it.

Think that hose is for excess oil from the powevalve to drain. Best bet would be to get the oem part before you ride it to prevent any dirt going in there.

If you want to take the change, see no reason why you couldn't ride it without it, but be prepared to have black gunk running down the side of the bike.

like he said it is the drain for excess oil coming from the powe rvalves. I would highly recommend getting another rubber hose for it, otherwise the gunk will be all over your cylinderUnsure

on my yz i just used some smaller heater hose, 1.19 a foot at auto zone
