Arguably one of the best mx tracks in the nationals, but why was it taken off the schedule?

From what I've heard, it needed a lot of updates and the owner didn't have the funds to do it. There was also a tax lein against the property and I believe it sold or was auctioned in 2012.

Not correct...Owner sold the rights to Freestone TX. I believe he saw the writing on the wall. The promoting group at the time was looking to take races to new venues. Of the 2 rounds in New York, which one do you think was going to stay on the schedule. I would say he made a smart move.

He sold the rights because of the updates he had to make! They had to change the whole pits.

Still wrong on this. The last year for Broome was 2006...updates were not the issue. Of the 2 rounds in New York, which one do you think was going to stay on the schedule.

Not sold in 2012, but yes some financial challenges.

Just going by what the owner Tom told my fiance. Don't know why he would lie. This was all done before MX Sports taking the series over. He was asked to change the pit area to accomodate the big rigs if he was going to continue to have a national. If not, they wanted him to sell to Freestone. That year they had everyone fix their pits.

Great track but damn the rocks on that track were just brutal! Tom is a great guy, he still runs the track and appear to be doing alright. The National track with the hills was just awesome.

When all of TBlazier´s videos were still up, I remember watching Pastrana wheelie over the braking bumps going downhill (!) on a a 125 - every lap. I still don´t understand how that is possible

Went to the final national at that track. Great battle between Stewart and Carmichael.

Was a cool track imo! I remember stewie throwing a nasty one handed whip while celebrating a moto win one year, i wore out the vhs tape rewatching that one a thousand times! Also, k-dub straight up beating carmichael right after he decided to come back to racing on the honda 450

Wow, berms and almost no 20" deep long stringy ruts. Can't be motocross.

Such a bummer. Dude had pure gold on his youtube channel.

I think his new channel is the one I posted the video from. It´s called "the motocross vault". The avatar is at least the same as Tblazier´s from the old channel and on here

Does he have all the same stuff up? You could literally watch stuff on his channel all day.

Thanks for the heads up.

The track is a steaming pile of rocky sheit, thats what happened. A couple neat jumps n hills but the dirt gets hard and rocky. Much better tracks out there.

When this was written up the masciarelli s from Conklin cycle center in Binghamton ny owned it , I do believe the old man had a accident up there and they sold it off to the hurds , if I rember correctly they did not own all the land that they used for parking and that was a big issue for the flat pit area the ama wanted , I know the hurds put a lot off effort into compiling , and the ama nat/ pro motors group wanted some southern Nats , so the rights where sold to freestone , it was a shame because all the people ever involved with that track where moto to the core . It's been years since I have been up there but they used to run there big Kawasaki race at the end off the year on the full pro track , I don't know if they still do
