So wasnt there talk of Chad Reed having a second rider on the team for outdoors? Or did this just end up Ellie being pregnant? Was wondering if there was anything on that front

I just don't see a second rider ever happening for 22...and for that matter, I'm not sure the team will exist after Reed retires...I just think that Reeds expectations for a rider representing him will exceed his budget...I hope I'm wrong, though.

Chickennnnn! Heard a Matthes podcast with Jeff not long ago. Apparently he's still cutting heaps of laps. I bet he'd have zero troubles qualifying for the 40 man gate. Fitness might be an issue though.

Was thinking of this last night... He's pretty much maintained he doesn't want anyone, he wants another winning rider on the team...

I think Matthes and JT$ pretty much said on some pulp show or similar that there was an offer on the table for DM18... might have lapsed?

They mentioned another team member coming in July a while ago.

Ellie is pregnant. It wasn't an outdoor team 22 rider. bunch of peeps took the social media bait.

yeah it does, the outside $ is the clincher

I think the only reason it hasn't happened is the $,

not enough to pay for a current top3er,

and I think JG can run upfront given a good program and run at it.

Still doesn't make sense... What outside dollars has JG got that is enough to pay for his share of a ride? Is it enough to run a bike, mech, flights, bonuses, salaries etc?

And it's still outside of what Chad has said, he wants a contender. JG hasn't been that since 09. Sux but true. Poor guy has been injured over and over. Not saying it won't but it is definitely not what they've been yaking about, otherwise he could have pulled Byrner, Metty or a bunch of his mates if it was just get another bike out there.

I'm 99% sure Honda kablocked Deano coming on board 22, didn't turn up with the bike.

JG to 22?

Does not seem like a good idea. But if you are looking to establish a team with two bike's it not too bad. If he can bring in $$ they will have good exposure as JG has many fans. JG has gotten pretty good pub last 2-3 years even when his results were not great. If this does go through, the expectations on race results cant be too high. I would expect around 13th or 14th place with a few top ten finishes and some laps in top 5. Is that good enough for 22 team?
