You wont ride highpoint unless its a race weekend which are few and far between anymore. Creekside motocross is usually open everyday about an hour north of morgantown. Pyramid valley is about 40 minutes south. If you enjoy woods racing, the new east coast cross country series is all pretty local and has some fun races. Track just opened back up in bruceton mills and I heard its pretty good. Morgantown powersports is right in town by the airport. If you get in good with some locals you'll find little tracks and lots of trails all over eventually..

There's a new track in Bruceton Mills!?

But Roaring Knob just opened back up. That's close to you.

Sorry forgot the name but was referring to roaring knob which is just a few minutes out of bruceton. Im working on a decent single track woods loop up there this year on our land. It kicks your ass pretty good.

Grad of WVU here. Check out www.MotocrossMatrix.com on the tracks page there is a blue link to view tracks on a map. That should help you find some tracks within a short drive.

I used to race on a track in Fairmont (southwest of Morgantown), but that was in the mid 70s when I was there working on the Morgantown Personal Rapid Transit project while a Boeing employee.

Could be gone by now.

There's no tracks in Fairmont.

If you find a track that is closed on our site or app just let me know. We will upgrade the system sometime soon when our staff has time.

One of the things I use the most is the phone app for MotocrossMatrix because it has the tracks phone number and address so you can tap to call or tap to get directions if needed. In the app store I think you have to search "motocross tracks" to find it.

Is the track at Bruceton Mills the old Dream Mountain track?
5/11/2014 8:22pm
If your asking me then I am not sure. I grew up in WV but never got to ride many tracks and that was long ago. I only show 3 or 4 tracks in WV at the moment but I am sure we are missing one or two. If you see we are missing one just let us know.

This thread was the first I heard of a tack opening up in Bruceton Mills. Dream Mountain was the track that used to be in Bruceton Mills. I was asking, anyone that would know, if the new track in Bruceton MIlls was the old Dream Mountain.

No, he was talking about Roaring Knob. I guess it's kind of close to Bruceton Mills. It's in Markleysburg, PA.

I doubt you're missing any. WV seriously lacks moto tracks. Would be a great place for them too, considering most of the population likes ATV's and dirt bikes.

Ok, Thanks Gizz. I was familiar with Roaring Knob. I just remember it from a long long time ago. I was kind of hopeful they were talking about the old Dream Mountain. It was a smaller track but it was kind of fun. They also had a cross country loop. That would have been a fun place to go back too.

Does roaring knob have just one track or do they have others.. I see they have track bypassing the jumps that looks like it could get dangerous quick

Yeah I often felt WV should become the playground of the east coast. The problem is though they will never change! They are 20 yrs behind in most WV cities and getting them to consider a "bike week" or a major motocross riding area is not possible. I love WV but just wish they would consider thinking outside the box a bit. Like maybe no income tax! Then lots of people would move there and retire there in the mountains.

-Gibbies on High Street, especially for live band karaoke on Thursdays. I owned a stool there.

- Kegler's any day of the week, but Tuesday is bowling league night. Highly recommend the Lemon Pepper wings.

The Wooden Nickle on Saturday morning for pre-game red beers. Stumbling distance to the parking lot.

-Purple Cow on Sunday. When the pro's come out. Careful though, you'll get some stares from the locals when you're new.

Then, if you feel like doing some high steppin', the Vintage room is always a hoot for wine and martini drinkers. Won't have any trouble finding females. Ahem.

Called the place home four years and rode maybe five times. Not a lot of places around.

Seriously though, for some good training go down the the rail trail and lace up your runners. Its gorgeous this time a year. Miss doing that more than anything. It's a really, really rad town.

Since you're in Uniontown thats where eleven10 mods is located. A couple miles west in Ruff Creek, Pa is Barnhart's Honda-Suzuki and Waynesburg,Pa has a Yamaha. Most of my friends ride woods races. The thing about that is there are 3 GNCC National races in the are. Mountaineer Run in Masontown, Wv., Powerline Park in St. Clairesville, OH., and Snowshoe. Being in Uniontown you aren't that far from Steel City raceway in Delmont, Pa. Not sure what kind of schedule they run but it would be worth looking into.

On a side note. Downtown Uniontown has a killer Italian restaurant called Meloni's.

Awesome man thanks for the insight!! i do love some hot wings so i was also going to ask that!! I think i will be definitely checking out the vintage room(age range on the woman as i am 30 and i operate in a 20yr radius lol).. Do they have some good food as well! Since i have yet to get my own place i have just been going an eating out at different places!..

Rail trail will also be on my todo list as i am doing the mud on the mountain night run in august!

I will definitely be checking Eleven 10 out.. although i am a track rider i do like to do my share of woods riding its a different kind of riding and can be almost as fun as a good track day!.. I have done a couple GNCC races and boy are they brutal.. I did one last year and i thought it was only 3 12mile laps so i hammered off the start well if you finish the 3rd in a certain time you get waved thru for a 4th lap.. if i had the energy to unglue my hands from the bars i think i would have punched the guy who waved me around for another lap lol.. it was fun but i honestly hurt for an entire week after that and swore i would never do another one but i would still go for it.. i like the challenge!

I raced the LLQ at steel city a couple weeks ago.. They're like high point and only have practices the sat. before a race!
