Looking for info on the 2011 Kx250f

New member here, long time rider. Grabbing a new bike from a buddy who used to race..
Engine was gone through this past winter and everything checks out nice.
Theres a couple pictures of the 2011 im buying, what special stuff do i need to know about this year?
Repairs, mods, upgrades?
How is the FI system in it.

Couldn't have been ridden to hard if that is the stock chain guide.

All you need is a good chain guide and a one piece bar mount (if you like to tip over a lot) and you're good to go.

Thanks guys, It's been ridden pretty hard from how i have seen him ride, but only got 45 hours on the bike, and maintence was done religiously. So I am not too worried. Just wanted to make sure it wasnt like the last kawi i had... But reading up now I had the worst year for Kawi 250s there was.

05, looked new, ran great. 1 day it just stopped running, wouldnt kick down. Ripped it apart, bottom end was torn to shreds, and the crank was at about a 45 degree jammed into the casing. After about 2 months of riding. Parted it out made about half of what I paid so Not too bad i guess

I must have had good luck or something with my 05. Everything ive heard about the 05 kawi 250s is horrible but mine ran like a champ. I bought it new in 06 and it ran fine for about 4 years. ill admit that 2 of those years i didnt ride as much but the was a 2 year span where i was racing it every weekend and never had any problems. I never rebuilt the top end until 2010 when we put a big bore kit in it and thats when i started to have problems with it. blew it up, sold it broken for $800 and bought a 2012.

I just wish my 05 woulda lasted longer than the 10 rides it did. I missed dirt, but was focused on my street bike instead of saving up for another dirt bike.
