At the time the talk about why Kawi did not make an offer was because he wanted a raise and a SX only deal. Add in the Red Bull/Monster factor and things did not work out.

That's not true, I listened to a podcast he did with pulp & he said he wanted to race mx & was waiting to see if factory Yamaha would support him. He could of won 09 &10 pretty easy.
He said it on One of the Bubbas world episodes.

Speaking of Mike Williamson. Wasn't he James' mechanic when he went 24-0 in the outdoors? He's had quite the career too
Yep. He should be closing in on Goose!

It's not James' fault Yamaha built a shitty bike! And that just goes to show ya how much influence James has! There were plenty of guys(Reed, DV, etc....) that spoke out publicly on how bad the bike was, but James gets all the blame. And the funny part is James never said anything bad about the bike publicly!

You cant go by what he says. James is riding the bike not him. You really think he is going to say ya the bike is a piece of shit? Get real! Ferry said on pulp he rode the 2010 5 laps and was scared for his life. You really think J- bone knows more than Reed, Ferry, Stewart? James has always crashed or won that's no lie, but the fact that the guy got like what 6 wins in 3 years on that bike? That has to say somtihing! Reed left Honda and went to a Kawi and started winning again, I don't hear anyone saying it was not the bike.
And yet James signed a THREE year deal after test riding the bike!!! The same bike he was currently riding! The same bike Davi finished second in the series over Dungey.

WHY? Why on earth would he do that? I mean if Ferry was scared for his...

Let me be clear... I've not stated anything that's my opinion. I've simply pointed out someone who has been with James before and is a very "in the know" moto person. And the facts that the results for James has not changed a whole lot after dumping his JGR contract. You stated 6 wins in three years but, he has done more racing on the Suzuki and still only has six wins!

Come on JS7 looks 100 times better on that Zook! Also he has not raced the RMZ450 3 years in SX. So how do you figure that? I don't know what was up with him last year, people say he rode hurt who knows, but the guy has kicked ass this year that's for sure. Something he never did on the new YZF450.

Do you actually believe what you type Dan? All Jbone said is James had no confidence in the YZF, of coarse he can't say the bike sucked. James raced last year trying to rehab a completely torn ACL. This year he has only crashed on his own twice in main events, and one time Dungey took him out, and he is 2nd in points. I don't know why you constantly try to discredit the dude, a Florida rider no less.

It's all personal preference. Reed hated the Kawasaki but RV loved it. To each their own.

Agreed, he's looking damn fast right now, that's for sure. I hope he "brings it" in the outdoors this summer. He has those lil' amazing moments that drops your jaw with his riding style, line selection and jump combo decisions Smile This is not a wrap up fake lovefest... I just needed something to get off the negative appearance of my posting.

Didn,t his Dad have a lot of influence in the situation? James definitely doesn't seem like he ingnores his Dads opinion.

Missing racing , many injuries, a bike he doesn't feel comfortable on tons of crashes on that 2010 era Yamaha, more injuries.
Might take a while to get confident especially at the speed these guys are going. Lot of the crashing this year and some of the stuff last year seemed like dumb random shit.

My apologies man, but I look at results. The bigger picture. I don't do the "what if" games. Example... what If Dungey didn't DNF, get thrown into Peick and various other incidents: James is nowhere close to second in points!! LOL It was all bad luck for Dungey that allowed James to be second, right?...

Again, as I stated above, I didn't post my opinion. But it does seem that nobody is to be believed over the belief of James motoboard fans Wink

You have made me aware again of why I should stay out of JS7 threads, so I'll listen to you and refrain, from questioning and criticisms, once again, for as long as I can that is Wink Cheers

What ifs can always be played, if JS didn't bend his bars at round 1 and get a crushed header pipe at Daytona he would be right in the points chase right? Even though its bench racing, its dumb. But that wasn't what we were talking about. It was about James struggling on the YZF, its not just his motorboard fans that said the bike wasn't as good as the other bikes, it was the guys James raced against.

It's not that facts are bad, it's how they are presented. When you come in here and starting saying things like "Oh....almost forgot.......4peat Bitch!" or when Uncleof2 comes in with his backhanded compliments of Stewart, it puts you right on the level of all the doping noobs you people make fun of.

Some of you want to come in threads like this and just start shit by talking down Stewart or sucking the skin off of RV's balls. No wonder he wants to retire.
So because I am a Ryan Villopoto fan when I say something good about JS7 it is a backhanded compliment. You don't know
what I think and I have had my days when I have reacted inappropriately to some JS7 fans statements, but I have a lot of respect for where JS7 is in this time of his career and have never doubted that he is one of the best. I grow tired of those who
take something you say and twist it to make it something it's not.Sad

No, its been about 15 years since I did that, but I am hiding them for a bunch of his nephews and nieces later today. Grandma an Grandpa, aunties and uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews are all here, but we miss Ryan and Tyler. We
had him for Thanksgiving and when he was up here for Seattle, but he is spending Easter in Cali with his wife and family and
Tyler is on his way up but won't be up here until later in the week.

Yea that Yamaha yzf400 was a idea stolen from Honda. Might as well blame Harley for the Americans idea of what a motorcycle should sound like for this argument

That's why Pourcel refused to ride that bike too, he said for normal riding it was OK but at race speeds it was unpredictable...

Totals since the switch 2 years ago: 6 SX wins and 1 MX moto win resulting in an overall.

Not a whole lot of difference is there?...

2014 SX title... crashed out of contention.

Totals since the switch 2 years ago: 6 SX wins and 1 MX moto win resulting in an overall.

Not a whole lot of difference is there?...

This year he has looked amazing but the Championship result is the same.

Didn't he have 2 MX wins Mr. Recap?..
Oh shit... you're more than right Lenny Sad

2012's perfect beginning, 4 straight moto's resulting is overalls!!!

I hope he carries his SX confidence to the outdoors... seeing him back in form like in 2012 would be so awesome.

That's cool you guys still get together when you can. I have not heard much about Tyler. Is he going to race the Canadian MX series? He was doing pretty good last year in AX.
