Saw a post on Justin Starlings' Instagram account that referenced Unit Clothing going out of business? Anybody have any inside info on this?

It's happened many times, I watched quite a few times in the Snowboard industry people come seemingly out of nowhere. Enough money is coming in to way overspend on building an image for a few years and not enough on building a viable business that can handle ups and downs. As long as the money is coming in they can continue to rack up the debt to continue the image. When you have a downturn, they fall like Bernie Madoff. If they're smart they pocketed some cash before it collapsed, most don't.

Don't worry! HLTN is here to pickup where Unit left off.

Not extravagant spendors???!!! We're they not aware of the one-off carbon fiber freestyle bike the company built???

Ferrier Hodgson partners Tim Michael and James Stewart have been appointed voluntary administrators.

Funny, none of the US industry websites have picked up the story. I would imagine they're into Transworld of a few bucks between MX and BMX. I could see PU buying them, already have a foot in the door in MX.

I kind of assumed they had something to do with HLTN. Grant and Champion wore Unit last year and seemed kinda off they were with this company this year. Probably just coincidental.

They did pack up their LA base and move it back to Australia last year. The Unit receivership has been a whisper in the Moto industry over here in Aus for a few weeks now. I think they are still hoping for a buyer, without anything yet confirmed.

And, "Not extravagant with their money" ??? They partied like rock stars !!

I think it was a case of spending to much on advertising and sponsorship, and the fad started to die off. I know a lot of my friends stopped wearing it because it was almost considered bogan clothing.

Was sad going out and having 10 other people with the exact same shirt or hat on.

Unit being almost considered bogan clothing is like saying Barcia almost rides aggressively or McGrath almost dominated Supercross!

When I first started to wear unit clothes they were pretty cool, simple good looking logos and a good fit. Then their quality started to go down hill and the shirts had a crap fit. They felt cheap. Then the designs started trying too hard. At nearly 30 years old with a young daughter I can't really wear shirts with naked chicks on it. They just tried way to hard to be hard. Basically turned into a bogan brand

Thank god! The amount of posers that wear this stuff is ridiculous. I was at a party and a friend of a friend said his mate was into motocross. So he went and got him.... comes walking over in a unit shirt. First thing he says is "Hey do you know who Twitch is?".............

The worst thing is, it'll make it harder to spot the d-bags straight away. But we still have tap-out shirts!

sucks to see peoples business fail. I don't wear any of their clothing, but I do like the colors they put on the unit moto 9 helmets so maybe I will get a couple more at a discounted price.

Side note, had to go confirm what slang bogan stood for and I would have to agree.
