That sucks Lipert.

I guess Barker's assistant's wife went into labor in LA...and Barker against his usual norms, got a Lear Jet to get them home ASAP. His assistant is one of the deaths.

I know it's really dick but that's the first thing I thought. I think I would rather be dead then have to go through what the burn victims will go through

Damn, i hope travis makes it. That guy has brought so much to the music world. With out blink we would not have bands like the Beatles, The Eagles, The Dead, and so many others. It would be a great loss to society if he couldnt play again.

I don't know him personally, but he went to school and played in bands with my nieces ex husband and his friends in the IE. They are from Fontana. I have met some of the guys in one of his new bands.

TMZ has learned Travis Barker has been burned from the waist down, but he is expected to survive the plane crash. DJ AM's face was severely burned and is being tended to right now.

We're also told the tragedy is all the worse because one of the passengers who died, Chris Baker, Travis' assistant on "Meet the Barkers," was married recently and has a new baby.

Sources tell us Travis Barker and DJ AM saved their own lives after their plane crashed by jumping out the door of the burning plane, almost immediately after the small jet came to a halt.

As we reported, both are at a burn center, but it could have been fatal. The Learjet was already on fire when they fled.

Travis Barker's assistant -- featured on the reality show "Meet the Barkers" -- was one of the four people who died in last night's plane crash in Columbia, SC.
Travis Barker and Chris Baker
Chris Baker, 29, died along with the pilot Sarah Lemmon, co-pilot James Bland and Charles Still, who was Travis' bodyguard. Barker and DJ AM are still in a burn center in Augusta, GA in critical condition.

Gavin Degraw's father has told a local paper in SC Degraw was not on the plane and is still in Columbia.
