Anyway, hope your enjoying life an it's cool that your still a moto head like the rest of us.
oh sorry man haha and thanks but as one of my mates has since said it sucks that I got hurt when I did cause I had a bit of a 4 stroke style as I was smooth and I kinda chugged my bike never really over revved it.. AKA boring haha

yep life's good could be way way worse and good luck getting this sport out of your blood if I could ride tomorrow I would haha

June 2007, smashed my brain out at the last lap and took the decision to lay low for a while.

I'd say you won since you caught him.

Nice hammering. You're faster than me. Blink
x2 Nice riding!

I (a lowly mid pack B rider) proceeded to mosey on up a looooong slimy rock-riddled hill and passed a half dozen of the AMPRO racers that aren't real considerate while passing. It was cool, considering I'm just starting to do hare scrambles and most of these local pros were stuck on a hill.

I got in a fight in my last race with a guy named Cherokee on the top of the stairway to heaven at Monster Mountain. He t boned me so when he would try to get on his bike i would knock him off, then he would throw me off the hill, after I got too tired to knock him off his bike I just kicked his spokes. Oh man the good ole days! I still beat him that day.

First race of the season, March 2012, I was in about fourth or fifth with three riders on my butt. Went into a right hand corner and the rider behind ran into my swing arm on the right side. We both went down and as I was trying to get up from under my bike, another rider ran over my forearm and snapped my ulna. I picked the bike up and tried to ride but the pain was too much. Six screws and a metal plate later and it's good as new.

My girlfriend wants to move to Utah and I keep seeing riding videos from the St. George area. Is that the place to ride there?

For off road, Utah is unbelievable!!! From endless beautiful mountain single track in Northern Utah, to slick rock trails around Moab, to desert single track around St George, to endless desert and Sand in Western Utah.

Do YouTube searches for:

American fork canyon single track
Hobble Creek canyon single track
Chimney Rock single track
5 miles of Hell
Warner valley single track
Cherry Creek single track
Moab slick rock
Green River Single track
Whitewash single track

There is more, but that will give you a good idea of the riding here in Utah. It Literally has a TON of everything to ride.

I'm not much help on the moto scene though, you can check out motoutah.com, it's a local moto board, it's not as popular as vital but if you make a post you will get some good answers to your questions. Both for moto and off road.

St george is the place to be in the winter, but gets too hot in the summer (that is when the mountains become appealing).
Awesome, thanks I will check it out. It sounds a lot better than where I am now- sitting at a desk in downtown Washington D.C.

My only problem is how to make a living in Utah as a journalist.

2 weeks ago, first race of the season , in Saarbrucken ,Germany, at the Intermot show, switched up classes to ride the +40 national supermoto series, blew both my ankles out in qualifying after a hard Tarmac landing, managed to qualify 2nd in my half of the draw and won my semi, after dropping to 3rd,track was round the exhibition centre grounds and buildings , so was stoked to make a pass,as it was very one line , and then managed 3rd in the final ,after getting nerfed off in turn 1.... 2 guys who beat me aren't series riders , so I left the track with the points lead... Only downside was being at the airport to fly back to the UK instead of being at the presentation. .. My sponsor stood on top of the box , decent chap that he is .

Ya, you'd think I coulda pulled it off, I tried that inside before the finished for the next 4 laps and he edged me at the line by a couple tenths. So fun having your best friend be the exact same speed, outta 8 motos I got him 5-3. The biggest difference in lap times all weekend was .5 second. Damn I can't wait for mammoth!!
