Can you dyno a bike with a slipper clutch?

In my experience while the Hinson Slipper Clutch delivered the power well on the track in my experience it kept the bike from delivering an accurate dyno reading so I went back to a conventional clutch.

Curious what experiences others have had with slipper clutches and dynos.

In hindsight I wish I would have gone back to slipper clutch after the dyno runs. Combination of the Fox suspension and the slipper clutch almost make braking bumps invisible.

Why don't you just put it back on? Why did you need to take it off? If you were tuning it with the dyno, why not leave it on so it was tuned for the way you want to ride it.?

we had a really cool Adige slipper in the Aprilia we ran a few years ago, but it wouldnt pull a proper run on the dyno, it was a prototype job that was a slipper and also had some kind of mechanical traction control in it too, showed around 73hp but the dyno didnt like it........

Aren't slipper clutches only supposed to slip on deceleration? Assuming that was the case, how would that affect dyno runs?

when a clutch slips on the run down of a dyno it messes up the readings i.e. my old vw golf slipped on the run down and showed a red-line of +12,000rpm and 50hp more that what it can actually produce

street bikes have had slipper clutches for 5-10 years (stock) and I have never heard of any dyno run problems

Dyno numbers doesn't always equate good horsepower on the track. If you ride well with it, keep it.

There should be no reason a slipper would affect dyno readings. I have had tons of bikes on a dyno with oem and aftermarket slippers and never had an issue. Maybe your stack height was goofed up?

Is running a knobby tire for the dyno slip too much? Street tire a must?
