98 Rm125 Fork Question

Anybody know much about Showa 49mm Twin-Chamber Conventional Forks that come on 98 rm 125.
I know nothing about setting up forks.

im look to set them up for some racing at my local track.
im 154lbs and 5'3"

is there any aftermarket for these shocks or should i switch to a newer style shock?

What do you want to know?

They can be set up with valving and springs for your weight and riding ability.

Are they conventional forks as good as the inverted fork or should I switch to a different fork all together. Are conventional forks worth the time and money to revalve or spring?

Those are very good forks. One of the best chassis I rode was my 96 RM125.

^^^agreed, I loved my '96-'97 RM 125's. Some people have been know to seek these forks out to instal on other bikes. They are the first generation twin chamber forks and work very well in conventional form.

As I understand it, the 98 forks were better than the 96/97. They had less underhang, and I believe the internals were better too, though I don't know the specifics.
