And that waistband looks pretty conspicuous. Is Ethica underoos a Reed-sponsor? They should be, cause I want some now.
Bad Ass
I would expect that attitude from Chad, but not Ellie
I think if there is any way Chad feels he can get points without making his injuries worse he will be on the track Saturday.
Pit Row
again, hope the guy heals up and is back in action soon.......
The scapula is very well stabilized by all the muscles and tendons around it. I think Chad raced with a broken blade before. The T1 fracture is probably not an axial compression fracture. He hit to the side. A rib tubercle probably fractured a transverse process (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transverse_processes). That is also well stabilized by soft tissue. The real concern is actually mundane...and that is the collarbone...and soft tissue damage in the shoulder. If the collarbone is broken through and through, but not displaced..it could get displaced pretty quick just through the normal upper body loads of riding. Getting it solidly plated seems like a must. Hill was riding with a plated cbone...2 weeks post.
My guess is he tries....takes a few laps...and comes in. Then comes back in 2-3 weeks after the bones have gotten sticky.
As for riding at the pro SX level with a plated clavicle before the bones heal...there is a high probability he will have to have it re-plated and have the bones scraped later. Dr. Mark Sanders wrote a very nice recommendation to over at TT relating to riding too soon with a plated clavicle because it 'feels' 100% (http://www.thumpertalk.com/topic/623130-attention-broken-collarbone-pat…)
