A person had a set of '13 KTM plastic on our local board for a decent price so I picked it up to update my '12. I was going to purchase the Nihlio bracket, but figured I would try to make something myself first. I had a machine shop mill me a bracket from a piece of aluminum for dimensions I gave them, total cost a 12 pack of coors light, which was on sale....can use the money I save to buy some gas once this snow finally melts....

This is the only thing that separates the factory bikes from everyone else. They can make anything they need (or think will look cool) and everyone drools over it because it can't be bought. But when you look at it, it really isn't that hard to make. I'm going to college to be a machinist. My bike is going to have "factory" parts on it. Good job on saving money, bike looks sick, KTM is my favorite bike.

You can make the front number plate look like the factory one too. Get you a piece of round stock about 3/4" OD and drill a 5/16" hole through it. Use it as a spacer behind the number plate mounting hole. Needs to be about a half inch long. It stands the number plate back up at the correct angle. You'll need a longer bolt too. It comes with the Nihilo kit. Only difference I see is theirs is anodized black. Good job.

After the pictures I did add a 1/4" bushing to space out the number plate. I had a PM if I had a sketch, here it is minus the hole pattern for the c-sink holes for the original fender mounting. My measurements were slightly off, so I didn't want to include them. The 1/2" from the edge is correct to get the clearance with the front of the tripple clamp, you'll just have to measure the hole pattern to drill. Hope that makes sense.

If you aren't able to machine the adaptor or buy the Nihilo kit... I just mounted up the fender and drilled 2 more holes, I used the washers from my old fender. Been riding it for a few months now and no issues. Super easy.

i bought the Nihilo front fender kit for my 12, i was unhappy with the fit, there is a gap between the front plate and fender, the brake line is bowed because of the plate pushed forwards, it eventually rubs so much that the numberplate or brake line needs to be replaced, plus graphics if you have them.
