What some of the guys have already said. Wey did the right thing. Like the blue flag dictates Wey was going to the outside line to leave the inside line open for James because that's the line James (and every other guy except Chad and Brayton I believe) was taking every lap of the race.
How would Wey know this unless he was being lapped twice?..Remember when James went to make a repass on RC at Unadilla and they came together?..Neither knew they were taking the same line...

And apparently, they are blue flagging the leaders, so the people being lapped never see it
Since when do the leaders get blue flagged?...Huh

The people being lapped never see it??? So what is the purpose of the blue flag??? Come on man, get your stuff straight. That is exactly the purpose of the blue flag, so that the lappers know that the leader is coming through.

Shit I just rewatched and saw that. I don't think he did it on purpose but it definitely slowed Stew down. I forgot how close he was to Chad at the finish.

Reed backed it down the last lap and a half. He was pulling away until he did that. Reed has beat Stewart straight up many times but each time there was at least some little something that actually happened that someone would use as a reason why it wasn't straight up. This time you guys are just making shit up, Wey had less than zero to do with Stewart getting passed and left.

The whole premise is that Wey slowed down Stewart robing him of a chance to repass Reed. If not why would it matter, every leader gets slowed by lappers multiple times each main.

hard to say but if 7 was getting lapped and went all the way across a set of whoops in front of a guy 1.5 seconds out of the lead on the last lap...the end of the internet...

did it matter? not in my opinion...Reed was better and had him covered...

did it slow james down, uh, it seemed to...

RacerX reported that Wey had a flat tire at the end of the race. He was just cruising out there.

YES you can use STEWTARDS...it's the official term for any idiot who sees only 1 rider on the track...those who take every chance to say he won, even when he didn't, they go out of their way to make every excuse for him...

they spout all the 'if's' and other BS...

I am a diehard stewart fan, but I refuse to be a stewtard...7 is an amazing rider, but he has his limitations, and makes mistakes like the rest...and some days he just isn't fast enough...but i still love to watch him ride...

the only thing i would say to you is...be careful not to get sucked into a war with stewtards cuz you come out lookin like a pure hater...which maybe you are? or...?

I started this thread the other day. One person in attendance advised that Wey looked over his shoulder at JS on the triple prior to the whoops. Reed was clearly on cruise control at that point, I do not believe it affected the outcome. I did think it was suspect that a vet of the field would spot a leader and then switch lines like that. He checked up when he seen Reed coming. Maybe the flat tire was a part of the equation, but it didnt' look like he bobbled and then faded across the whoops, from the broadcast it looked like he pointed his bike that way. That thread turned in to a JS wouldn't have won thread as well, when I just wanted opinions on what happened in the whoops, nothing more.

All the conspiracy theories aside......it wouldn't have changed the outcome.

Given the comments from most of the riders, I don't think anyone was switching lines in the middle of the whoops hoping to chop someone's line and not wad themselves up in the process.
