As far as I know, Justin Bogle is out with back injury, Trey Canard has broken his arm, and Joey Savatgy has a broken wrist and I think he punctured both lungs.

There where 11 riders injured after A1 last season. 7 reported this far. No more than usual. People get hurt when they strive to reach top level. Always been, always will be.

A1 , still shaping up to be the "perfect storm" as always. The field is stacked! Sad

It sounds like Roczen has a fractured humerus (and there ain't anything funny about that).

The list is the ones you've heard about. Then there are the ones you don't, like a rider who recently took about a 45-second nap, and then ten days off from riding.

While this stuff sucks, it's not really (or shouldn't really be) that shocking. Some guys are pushing it, trying to find more speed and boost their game. They don't really do that once they get to the race season (or probably shouldn't, anyway).

Look at other pro sports, and the injuries involved. I see it as situation normal.

Reading about broken vertebrae and punctured lungs I'm reminded jerseys aren't exactly safety equipment so agree the situation is "normal," This normal situation will continue to be "normal" until the mandatory safety equipment list includes chest protectors with back protection.

Most talk about our sport wanting the success of NASCAR but unlike NASCAR our sport does little to nothing stay on top of safety issues aside from prayers sent posts. With the changes in the amount of air time MX includes now as compared to when the sport arrived in the US 45 years ago it is a bad joke as a group our heads are in the sand with the "MX is dangerous...get used to it" mantra.

I apologize. I realize riding dirt bikes is top secret stuff, and that I'm not at top level classified security clearance level yet.Tongue
