4spring , they say go to 6 spring. The thing is fried. Looking at the Hinson , but over a 1000 bucks is hard to swallow. Help, before I spend too much.

If your stock basket is still good you can get Hinson 6 spring upgrade kit for $500 plus $179 for fibers and steel plates.

Put an 09 hub and clutch kit in it. You'd be better off with the Hinson hub but go OEM on the clutch kit (it's usually cheaper).

I did the Hinson 6 spring in my 09 and it's worry free now. I also put a hydrualic clutch on it which helps a lot. I assume since you're talking about $1000 that you're in need of a clutch basket and plates in addition to the inner and outer hub.

Basket is shot, is your 09 for sale?

Yep, Hinson 6-spring inner hub/pressure plate kit, remove the judder spring/skinny plate and replace with 1 more normal plate.

Keep the cable lubed frequently. Everyone says the Works Connection perch/lever combo helps the pull. I have the Pro Taper one which is basically a poor man's copy of the Works Connection and it helped.

Stock clutch worked but it heated up and I was hitting the adjuster every lap. Hinson 6-spring is like the 08 stock clutch - hit the adjuster one time after the initial play develops and you're good the rest of the moto.

I highly recommend the 6-spring conversion kit from Framebreaker Racing. He sells the kits on ebay. They are much cheaper than the Hinson set up and I was very satisfied when I tried it out on my 2012 CRF450. He hard anodizes the hub and pressure plate. He is very reachable and helpful if there are any questions.
