Well, how are people supposed to know what's up if everything is so hush hush?

These people are interested in you and what you have going on.

Would it kill you to enlighten the unwashed to what's happening in, what's your name...........Jerry's world?

He's right you know Mr. Robin, you see here in interweb-typetty-type-clickety-click world we all have Apple-crosoft given rights to know everything about what you're doing, whom you've spoken to and whom your diddlin with.

So before you think you have any reason to even hint at such a thing as privacy well Mister High and Mighty you better think again!!

Good to see the results from down at the O's good job.

I never claimed to know anything about you, or your situation. I was merely stating that I wish my son's "strict budget" allowed for him to live at a training facility, attend all of the big races, buy his bikes, fix his bikes, etc without him having to work to contribute to any of it.

Why don't you take a step back and think about how ridiculous you sound...

First off, there are many people out there who wish their budget was as "strict" as yours. Most families don't get to go to Mini O's and can only race on the weekends. Then some families can't afford to race at all; only ride...and some families can't afford bikes...a car...housing...blah blah blah. My point is that there is always someone out there who has it harder than you do. Jerry didn't announce over Vital that he needed funding for Hog Heaven, he simply sat out to save money for Mini O's without crying over the internet about not having enough money like some people would Whistling ...............

Secondly, why do people have to be so bitter with life that they feel like they have to ruin other peoples fun and knock on the things they do, when they have no clue about their situation. I mean, do you enjoy making yourself look like an asshole?

Lastly, The Robins have committed themselves to Jerry's racing career; and they do everything they can to help him succeed. But I'm sure you've never committed to anything in your life other than to being a negative person so you wouldn't understand that (sarcasm, I'm sure you have a masters degree, a 6 figure job, the best kid on the planet and a great spouse. I'm just showing how ignorant you sound when you start speculating about someone you don't know).

Next time your about to type something that adds nothing to the topic (which will most likely be every time you're about to post) don't...The rational people on vital would appreciate it. Thank you for your time.....Smile

You want to win races to sell product to the masses, but remain an unknown.

Top that off with an attitude of "you're an ignorant bunch because you wern't at the team meeting last night",
well, who's the high and mighty one?

If I got this right, here's the short version of the story. Last year someone took a video of Jerry riding his Dad's old 1985 CR250. Jerry's bike was broke. So he only had one choice. Well, he went out and won his region for Loretta Lynn's. All the sudden, he was a hero. Wasn't his fault. He didn't ask for anything. He just wanted to race.

Well, help came pouring in. It was obvious the Robin's weren't millionaires. Mr. Geico offered Jerry two of their old bikes. One of the training facilities offered him free access. Some other people stepped in with help also. Next thing you know, Jerry wins the 2-stroke class at Loretta's and does pretty well in 250B. So he gets even more help.

Whatever he gets, he has earned. Sounds like he still has to skip races to save up money.

Great Job Jerry.

WTF do you want? His bank account numbers? Maybe a screen shot of his checking account balance? How about his social security number?

I'm sure he would be more than happy to talk about his racing plans, when and how he got started, the people who are helping him, etc... but squid-mom is purely speculating on a private matter. You have this kid all wrong...

I did not speculate on a private matter at all. One poster said that he sat out a race, which is not such a terrible sacrifice. I simply pointed that out and added that alot of other racers make plenty of sacrifices as well. How is any of that an attack on Jerry???
12/4/2013 6:33am
I wish Jerry the best. As mentioned above he has earned the help he has gotten and everything I have seen and read about him shows that he is a genuine, hard working dude. Who wouldn't want a kid like that to be successful? The bad boy who can ride thing has been over done. Time to let the kids with the right attitude and skills to succeed and be the role models for younger racers. Personally, I hope the kid gets a "factory" ride...

No, you did not "simply point out that alot of other riders make sacrifices." You said this............

"I wish our budget was that 'strict'.....we couldn't afford to be at Hog Heaven, SOB, or anywhere else before the Mini O's. We were ALL at work just so that we could go to Florida for ONE week." and

"I never claimed to know anything about you, or your situation. I was merely stating that I wish my son's "strict budget" allowed for him to live at a training facility, attend all of the big races, buy his bikes, fix his bikes, etc without him having to work to contribute to any of it."

That is 100% jealousy and bitterness. Did your kid finish top 3 at Mini O's? How about win a Loretta's tittle? I mean I wish I could have as much money as Ricky Carmichael and be able to retire early and do what I want, but I can't because I didn't put in all the work, blood, and sweat he did.

Speaking of OUR budget is attacking someone else? Or speculating about other's finance? How so???? No my kid did not finish top 3 at Mini O's nor does he have a LL title. Could he have if he had been given similar opportunities? I guess we will never know....but yes, he has put in the work. Never once did I speak negatively of the kid and I wish him all the luck in the world. You just seem to have a bit of a persecution complex concerning this topic.

It sure did look like an attack on Jerry to me. Lots of implications in your words.

The kid never asked for anything. He got a ton of support, and completely delivered and made the most out of it. He shut a lot of people up that said he didn't deserve it, but people still find a reason to hate. The jealousy is pathetic.

Jerry earned everything he got. You are obviously one of those people who feels entitled to everything simply because you were born. It is obvious by how you wrote your original post that you weren't just "simply" saying some people don't get the same opportunities. It was an opportunity for you to talk about how you aren't getting your fair share; and you were obviously insinuating that Jerry didn't deserve what he got. You can back pedal and deny all you want, but it's not hard to see what you were saying. READ WHAT YOU WROTE......

As for the persecution complex you speak of...That is utterly hilarious that you bring up a psychological issue, since you were the one who originally took offense to the fact that someone said Jerry didn't have the budget to race, and immediately went into "Life's not fair" mode. Did you forget to take your Xanex this morning?

What is utterly hilarious is that throughout this entire thread you have used the words 'earned' and 'given' as though the two were interchangable, yet you accuse me of feeling entitled to things simply because I was born.

I am done with this, I will finish by saying that I agree 100% with the poster who wrote "Jerry made the most of the opportunities that were given to him". He absolutely did that, both at LL and at the Mini O's..... for that I commend him. I also wish him luck in the future as well. But, I refuse to buy into the whole 'rags to riches' that was previously mentioned, nor will I pity him for having to sit out for a race or two.

I have watched Jerry for years, since he was on 50's. They have been racing on a shoestring....like alot of us at the local level... and just "making it work" , he has tons of talent and dedication and it showed when he was young on a 50 and is really showing now. Great job Jerry and to you to Dan and your wife for raising a good kid.

Hey...simmer down. This post is about Jerry and how he did at Mini-0's.

If you want to play this game of one-upmanship...email or PM each other.

Bashing a kid doesn't make you sound smarter and certainly doesn't contribute to the atmosphere of this forum.

Thanks.

You are still missing the point! It absolutely is a "rags to riches" story! It's also a story of not making excuses when he didn't have a modern bike to race.

The beauty of motocross is you don't need a new bike, a practice bike, a toterhome, or a training facility to win races. Determination and courage can take you far.

Stop setting a bad example for your kid with your excuses and bitterness.

Just another classic example of mini parents, pissed off because no matter how much money they pump into their child, it still can't be replaced talent.

I personally love this kids story, it's refreshing to see a kid catch a break that hasn't had a silver spoon in his mouth since birth.
