Hey guys, just wondering, if I were to get a better CDI for my bike, what actually will it accomplish?
Thanks Smile

I have a Vortex CDI on my YZ125. I felt HP increases through out the spread. I highly recommend.... expect jetting changes.

I don't know for sure about a 2 stroke. But I put one on 09 kx250f (vortex). I honestly think that is the best bolt on mod you could do for a bike. If there was only one mod I could do to a bike that would be it. It makes the bike run so much crisper and gives it much more of a response off the throttle. I know on a four stroke it add quite a few more rpm's. Advances the timing and makes it rev faster. Absolutely amazing product

Are there any other CDI's which are cheaper than the Vortex, but work just as well? Or is Vortex pretty much the best CDI you could buy? I've heard great things about the Vortex, but nothing about any others.

Vortex is. the real deal, I had one on my 09 rmz,450, plan on getting one this spring for my 12 kawy 450.GET makes ignitions ,. Best mod you can get. Vortex, race fuel, 13/50 .gearing better than a pipe, but a pipe will make it even better.

Vortex is one of the cheaper ones. But they are the best in my opinion. And they come preloaded with I think it's like 11 maps you can choose from

10 maps, change with a screwdriver. Great product. Not sure on the 2 stroke though. But its a quality product., Tokyo mods has good info on the vortex.

Holy crap, 700$ for the 4 stroke model.

Couldn't you just advance the timing by turning the stator?

Better than a full pipe., and cheaper , Ti exhaust, easy install, eBay sometimes has used ones, but I would never buy used electrical stuff, plus you have to remap it anyway.

Well I definitely want one. Having trouble pulling the trigger on though lol. Are there any shops where I can send my stock box for a remap?

Socket946 said that he was sending his to a shop. I can't remember exactly where though. I honestly would recommend the vortex though. 10 different options for almost every kid of track. Especially with the handlebar switch. It's awesome for hole shots. And super tight sections

Tokyo mods and eleven ten mods does remaps on stock boxes. I think bout $85 , the vortex. Is expensive and way better than a remap, and you can resell it if it does not work on the next bike you buy.., most remap shops have one day turn around. Insure your postage though. Bike brand, might vary in price. Hope this helps.
