Hey guys, I have a 1999 YZ250 and I was wondering what is the best stuff I could do with my bike to make it produce the most power? Here are my specs: Wiseco performance piston, v-force 3 reeds, dual layer air filter, pro circuit platinum pipe, stock silencer, 13/52 sprocket set up, running on 32:1 using race oil. That's...

Are there any other CDI's which are cheaper than the Vortex, but work just as well? Or is Vortex pretty much the best CDI you could buy? I've heard great things about the Vortex, but nothing about any others.

Go VForce, they're extremely good reed valves. I have the VForce3 on my 1999 YZ250, and it's great. VForce are great with the clean and crisp throttle response.

I'd say get a 250 2 stroke. I ride the YZ250, and they're great bikes. I went from a crappy 250 4 stroke chinese bike, to the 1999 YZ250, and I adapted pretty well. A real easy way to get used to it all, is to play with the sprocket ratio. I had a 14/50 set up when I got...

I'd go Kawasaki. The KX450f has dual fuel injectors, plus launch control. The KX has won the shootouts for years, and would definitely be the best 450 in my opinion. Or, go for the YZ250 2 stroke, best bikes ever.

I think you're much better putting the money into the 2 stroke. 2 strokes are so much easier to fix if they break, and they're so much more fun. I have a 1999 YZ250, and I'd never go 4 stroke.

I already buy my own fuel and oil, so that part is fine, but I don't know if I really need lessons. I feel that I'm a fairly alright rider, like I'm part of the local motorbike club, and I always go riding in the forestry, and none of my mates ever keep up to me haha. I don't know...
