Not trying to discourage him at all. Just to give him a hard gut check. Fact is there are probably what 20 racers that actually make a "decent" living in this sport. By that I mean can bring home 60 to 70k after everything is paid for. Pretty much every one of those guys had a full ride at 10 years old. Point is that sure it is his dream to race like it was probably all of ours on Vital. But to do it and make a living at it you gotta go fast. Real fast. The fact that you are on here asking for money means he is not going fast enough. He should get a second job if this is really what he wants to do and there is time to do it all. Or perhaps if you believe in him you should get a second job to fund him and I promise you if he ever makes it he will never forget it. But instead you want to ask for a handout. As I stated on here earlier you should change your tactic from asking for a handout to showing us a little ROI. As long as the kid can give people value for their money he will find an endless supply and that will be a lesson that will carry him through life not just motocross. He should use the stuff that people like me say as motovationWink Prove us wrong. If he's fast enough the right people will find him.

Some of you guys are just jealous dicks. Its a guy basically asking for sponsorship. NO ONE does this without help. Are you bashing Poto, Stewey, or anyone else for asking for more money in there sponsorship deals? If you don't want to give the kid money then fine, don't, but also don't be a bitch and complain that someone posted an ad that wasted the two seconds it took for you to click on it.
I say don't get a job... Try to put as much money you can together and chase the dream for as long as you can. The "real world" will be there when you are done. And trust me... IT SUCKS.

I can see both sides. I can see where people get annoyed at someone asking for money to follow a dream. Some guys on here wanted to follow a dream but couldn't for maybe the same reason. The kid making the night show and getting 8th in an LCQ unfortunately is a dime a dozen. I have seen kids who should have been Top 10-20 Pro riders but couldn't make it for whatever reason.

There are riders out there right now who are Top 20 pros that can't get a ride.

I am all about helping someone obtaining their dream. What I would recommend would be to offer someone ROI like stated above. Look at Derek Anderson, he put a web series together to get exposure and funding. The same goes for Jimmy Albertson. People out there want to help you just have to give them a better reason on why they want to. Come up with a cool marketing idea or a different sales pitch than so so results and that he is an amazing person. Go back to any of the 100's of threads started of great fast kids who never made it to see the same story.

I'm not here to bash cause I hope he does make it and you guys can say a Big FU to everyone who gave you shit about it. Just trying to give you a both side point of view on it. Good luck and wish you the best!

Couldn't have said it better myself. Best wishes on your fund raising. (sponsorship)

I wish the kid luck. I've donated to quite a few that have come through here looking for some help so it's no big deal. Either donate or don't bother. Those that come through here themselves and post up a good read usually get a decent response.

I still don't understand the big holes in the ears though. There was someone a while back looking for donations with big holes in their ears, is this the same kid?

WOW. There is a dude with some issues... Those are called charities. This is not a charity. It is a riders dream. If you want to give your time and money for a cause, great. If others want to give to a guy trying to make it in moto then great. I don't believe the dude said anything about other charities.
Just relax and ride. No haters needed.

Motocross is like a financial cancer...I can't even fathom how many people have ruined themselves financially trying to chase the racing dream.

The bottom line is, motorsports are expensive...if you can't afford it, work harder until you can....or as some have stated...CREATE VALUE

Have you done a video series? Website? Involved in Social Media (in a way that could bring value to sponsors)?

For the record, I also thought it was lame that someone was asking for $$ to go to Mini O's. Call me a dick, but that's life, if you can't afford it, you don't get to do it sometimes....shit, I don't even have a bike anymore because I couldnt afford it, guess what, life went on....

Read enough. He's burnt through daddy's money and now he needs help. A lot of people in your neck of the woods believe Christian is no where near ready for SX. Eighth place in a LCQ isn't anything to brag about. Maybe Christian should stop trying to be cool and get a job that pays decent instead of working at Motoxtreme.

I'm pretty sure Raegan is on here looking for charity as he is offering nothing in return.

As I and others have stated come up with a plan for a little ROI. Otherwise I see you no different than the guy on the street corner with a cup.

Derek Anderson is a perfect example of how to drum up some cash.

Holding a cup out is not.

If you and the kid aren't willing to work for it.... Neither am I.

I donate to charity cases in which the people can't help themselves.

A guy standing on a street corner with a cup out could be pushing a broom in a warehouse. Instead of you typing on a keyboard asking for money you could be transcribing something and "earning" money to support him rather than begging for it.

It's not that I don't want to support... I just don't want to throw my money that I worked for out the window. Go back to the drawing board and come up with a plan of action so that people get a little satisfaction and I'm sure some cash will flow. If all your willing to do is set up a paypal account all we are willing to do is write stuff like this.

Even RV, Dungey, Stewy etc have to go do all kinds of stuff for their sponsors. Photo shoots, dealer signings, events etc.

Instead of coming on here asking for money, maybe ask what you can do for some money.

Wow for the moto industry to be a "tight knit group" a so called family sport you all know how to shut down a mans dreams.. It's pretty pathetic actually..

Pretty much like saying if an immature gets hurt regardless if he's a weekend warrior he shouldn't be on here asking for help or his family shouldn't be holding fund raisers to help pay for medical bills because he never had enough financial means to ride and have with the one and only thing he's passionate about..

Everyone bashing these kids efforts are 1) probably never made it out of D class let alone C class and never traveled ever to race a series.. 2) Hypocrites because if it were their friends trying to make a run for it they would be doing whatever possible to help the cause and 3) Are all just straight up cocksuckers that don't know when to keep their mouths shut..

Raegan742: do what you have to do to help your buddy whatever it takes for you guys to do to get to the big show do it.. Don't let these fucktards bother you with their bullshit.. Good luck ill be looking for ya..

I would help out but I'm in a little hole myself bout $25000 in med bills and godforbid i do something stupid and hold a little charity race at the local track to help cause i wasn't financially sound like these desk jockey douche bags!

Just joined, first post and it looks like Paul Harvey is gonna give us "the rest of the story".

Here is something for Christian to read.

Does he need money to get those big holes sewn shut? I'd rather donate to that than his moto career.

where i'm from, you don't go asking for "sponsorship", they come chasing you AFTER good results..

and sure, nobody hits the top without sponsorship, its because they've won a bunch of races and have been chased down.... not because they went begging for money...

Maybe if the dude didn't just join YESTERDAY it would be a little easier to take, but to join up and start asking for for money, ridiculous.

Maybe his dad did the same thing and cut him off when he showed up with holes in his ears.

If the kid raced a supercross I am sure he has heard of Vital. Why is he not on here himself? Or are you him Raegen?
