Anybody have a clue as to what this is? Other than something that's near the top of my "wish list".Smile

And don't start with the obvious answer, it's wrong. Laughing

That was quick! I only had the pics, cool to see the site they were posted on. Best I could tell is that is one of the Mugen 125's from around 77 fitted with the 78 CR 250 tank, front plate and fender. Trick stuff.

Did the 77 mugen 125's have a frame like that? Looks to me there is too much space underneath the tank, like a bigger engine belonged there.
It really does look like a 78/79 cr250 frame, but the forks definitely are not. Pretty cool bike

Looks like a 1975-76 CR125 engine with a different head in a 1978/9 CR125 frame.

Engine is from the 76-78 CR125 with the Mugen cylinder and head and up pipe. Wheels are also same year model CR125's. RC125 works bikes were already right side drive.

There's an MR125 that Rick Munyon rode that looked an awful lot like that!

Pics poached from Robert Hawes Mugencross.com site.

Same basic bike with earlier CR250 tank

Early CR250 alloy tank cut to clear the forks.

I found me one of them, well not quite, it was a 78 250 frame with a 76 125 motor, horrible hack job, but good for parts and surprisingly it was sitting for years about 300 meters from my house! Looked similar at first glance.

Mugen brochure showing the 77 ME125. Front downtube rolls under more than the bikes above.
