I remember that time in 87 when Lechein said on the podium that he was surprised he won when he had such a nasty Coors hangover.

I currently own a Tundra and will never buy another one. Bought it new in 2010 and have not been impressed at all. I will be buying either a Ford or GM next.

I think that the point here is that without sponsors, you don't get a chance at a hundred grand event win, let alone a million dollar payday to sweep the night.

It's disrespectful to a sponsor to belittle their product in a public way, by a guy who could have won the product do to the goodwill and investment if the sponsor. It was not RV at his best.

The real question is....how can you Toyota drivers stand that incessant seat belt ringing sound?

We here at Toyota will incorporate a torture device that will drive you insane if you do not buckle up....BRIIING BRRING BRING...and on and on it rings!

Maybe i just want to back up and hook onto the boat and dont feel the need to buckle up while my wife directs my license plate into the hitch on the boat trailer.

BRIIIIING BRRRRING BRINNNNG and on and on it never stops ringing.

Toyota had no intention of giving that truck away bassed off the criteria for winning it so why do you people care?
Matter of fact I'm a bit tired of these impossible criteria for winning things in this sport.

I will give a billion dollars next SX season to anyone who can holeshot every moto and lead every lap during supercross. I want you to put my company name on every holeshot replay, even after the criteria is not met and only mention my company.... To me that's equivlant to what Toyota does with the. "Win a Toyota" BS they do at the MEC CUP.

I have a very close friend that was on one of the original reality TV shows that set massive records for primetime viewership on network TV. He won a certain challenge and was given the keys to a brand new Pontiac Aztec. Millions of viewers saw him feign excitement as he looked over the ugliest vehicle ever produced. He said the production crew was laughing their asses off, and jokingly requested a second take. Though the words didn't come out of his mouth, his facial expression spoke volumes.

Buckle it, then move it back and sit on it, simple. Your welcome, lol.

What's worse is the brake rotors that started warping at 7k miles. The whole fucking truck vibrates like mad under braking, ....and Toyota says that's normal and they will only turn the rotors once under warranty.

The claimed MPG is another joke, ....yeah, motor puts out great power and torque, ...but never gets better than 12 mpg.

Same with the Van's Triple Crown and same with the Monster Million. When RV actually pulled that rabbit out of the hat, it ended up being a 20 year annuity and not the big box of cash they tout on the tele.

Wasn't the Toyota just a three holeshot deal?

Had a customer with a 2008 Honda Accord with 12,000 miles on it with front and rear brake pads worn to the metal. Local Honda dealer told her that was normal wear and tear. I told her that was bullshit and to request speaking to an actual Honda rep. They covered it but told her they wouldn't if it happened again. 12,000 miles!

In private you can have whatever opinion you want. But to rip the product of a sponsor that is investing millions in an event that you are lucky enough to have a shot at $1M in...is extremely unprofessional.

doesn't bother me in the least, and i don't understand why you guys have your panties in a bunch. no skin off Toyota's backs, all the moto-bros will still be in line to jack their Tundra regardless of what RV says or doesn't say about the stock Tundra he could potentially win.

besides, the spare change floating around in his Raptor after ripping it from Barstow to Vegas could buy plenty of Tundras, i'm sure he could give two shits what the idgits on Vital think

Many of you blasted RV for not riding the MXDN saying he was unpatriotic, even though he been a USA team member four times. Now you blast him for saying he likes a Ford Raptor made in the USA by an American company. Hypocrites?

???

No...you misssed it completely. They are blasting him for belittling a product that was being given away for FREE. I would also have gotten rid of the thing had I won, but I wouldnt have said that. I would have said "it would be awesome to win a free truck".

It was classless, no matter how you look at it, some of us on here were brought up the right way enough to know that. You dont degrade a product in front of thousands of people, especially a FREE product.

thats funny. i know 2 guys with tundras, same exact thing. they have other problems but those 2 are the #1 complaints from both of them. warps rotors like crazy and atrocious fuel economy. no towing, minimal weight in the bed at times. i got a nissan frontier now, warps rotors like crazy too, to the point where i gave up replacing them. aftermarket, oem, does not matter. nissan titan? same fucking deal to the point where they had a DTB for the issue, which i believe involved replacement of the caliper. i have never warped rotors on ANY of my vehicles i have owned over thousands of miles. if youre gonna build a "truck" and advertise its towing capacity and all this manly shit, make sure it has brakes large enough that it can stop its own weight properly first LOL.

dont even get me started on the frontiers getting intermix due to crap quality radiators and blowing out trannys to the point where they had to extend their warranty.

or what about the timing chain tensioner rails? some cars with less than 20k miles on them. same thing, had to extend warranty due to class action lawsuit. i can keep going too... you can keep your jap "trucks" guys.

While you guys can bash the Jap trucks all you want, just think for a moment where GM, Ford and Chrysler would be right now if it weren't for their trucks and large SUV's. Their cars have sucked for decades. Their trucks have been their only savior. But on to their trucks, Ford 7.3 cam sensors, F250 front hub assemblies, 6.0 diesel anything, 6.4 diesel anything, widow regulators in the F150's , Dodge dashboards crumbling to bits anywhere the sun shines, dually beds cracking and falling apart around all the welds, their inability to send you the right part five damn times, any GM diesel before the Isuzu Duramax, Duramax transmissions, heck, GM can't even make a door handle that doesn't fall apart or a dashboard that doesn't crack to pieces, $250.00 each door locks that won't last a year. Oh, why does a GM computer have to have a "hard reset" when nothing on the truck has been changed? Oh, the DVD won't play in the Escalade because the nav system thinks the truck is in South America? WTF....

When I worked at a Ford dealership, the number of warranty related engine swaps was beyond ridiculous. Ask a Honda dealer how many engines they swap out a year and you'll just get a blank stare.

When Chrysler and Mercedes merged I thought for a moment that we might get a better Chrysler. No, we got a shittier Mercedes.

Point is, they all build some crap. With corrosion resistant warranties for 7 years / 100,000 miles and no scheduled tuneups or plugs for 100,000 miles, powertrain for 100,000.....they have to do something that isn't warranty related to keep you coming back. Just like a modern 4 stroke dirtbike.

My big gripe about the Tundra? The thirty some odd piece front bumper assembly that will set you back almost 4 grand!Laughing

Newmann, my list of complaints about my Tundra is pages long. My prior truck was a GMC Sierra of which was a GREAT vehicle and very missed. Never had such complaints about my GMC. Also, once had a Nissan 720 pickup that I put 300k miles on; awesome truck. IMO, Toyota needs to do a hell of lot more work to make a truck as good as GM and Ford.

Hearing RV's comment about trading in the Toyota only makes me laugh, for I couldn't agree more.

Not being a Robot is one thing, talking shit about a series Sponsor is bad form.
I second what 500guy said. When in doubt about blasting a sponsor or not, JUST DON'T DO IT!
