I actually creep this forum a lot, so I'm fully prepared for the negative vitards telling me that I'm looking in the wrong area, but I'm currently in college and majoring in mechanical engineering. I know I don't have the speed to go anywhere with racing (why I hit the books) but I would like to take my degree into the racing world like others have done. Just wondering if anyone can hook me up with any information on how engineers can get linked up with a race team (I know it takes time) but you have to start somewhere.

What specically do you want to do with your degree? Is mechanical engineering the right route you should be going vs. Industrial Engineering?
Regardless, I did the same thing...........hitting the books was definitely a better route and I guarantee it in 10-15 years you won't regret the time you are putting in right now studying. It goes by ALOT faster than you think.
