With Chad, James and Ryan all at similar super-talent levels, I'm wondering if 2009 SX season might not be better than even 2006 in terms of the competition.

I also wonder how track design might affect this, if it'll be pretty close racing week in week out, because "everyones doing the same thing" as Chad always says, or if Wurx crew will get wise and create some new type obstacles to spread 'em out, ones that'll have James creating whole new technique to master.

We got a long way to go still, but I'm ready to see "racing" again in the premier class...

The racing will be for 2nd between Reed and Poto... James will clean up again if he stays off the ground.

It should be a good season if they all stay healthy.
Team changes ect. and putting RV in the mix should liven things up a bit. ...let's hope anyway. Smile

I'll tell you what... With James on that blue pos with no front end bite, he might take a step back. And Reed is making a step forward on the yeller bike.

I still think James is the man but they might be closer in speed that it has been in the past.

Iwant to see more of those dirt walls, and sections of track that jump over each other. I love watching the races, but theres just somthing about a track that holds no rythem to it I love to watch, last year's tracks were a lot of fun to watch, I hope there is more of Pro Rider track designs.

I agree. That whole super-smooth track design starting in the McGrath era got really boring, go back and watch some of those races, they might as well have just installed rails for the guys to ride on. Last year finally did have some more good stuff like the walls and the sand that threw off rhythm and forced these guys to muscle it around a bit more. Good stuff.

x2....and like Kawi said......don't forget KW. I'd love to see him do well. Is Dungey racing 450s in SX this year? If so, I would be surprised if RV is much better than him. Regardless, it's going to be a great season. Hopefully no injuries.....

Not a chance...... He'll score a podium here and there IF someone goes down. It's almost disappionting watching him on cruise control insted of pushing for a win indoors and out

you can only go so fast in a stadium, if rv can adapt to the 450 indoors he can hang with james i think. alessi is a very fast learner...he might be a threat too. it might be close racing...closer than you think

I would love to see Alessi run up front but he never seems to get it together indoors.
They need to let him race Steel City to get his confidence up. JMO

alessi hasnt done much indoors, ever, except for a holeshot here and there. then the anchor is thrown out and he goes back. Hopefully reed with give him some insight on what the deal is indoors and he can learn. I was super impressed with his showing this year on the zook, he put his head down and rode. He really stepped up this summer prior to the crash and I hope he can do the same indoors. When there is more then just one guy winning and one guy getting 2nd, the sport becomes exciting again.

mike was running top 4-6th in the races he raced on the 450's. except for one. he is a fast learner and will adapt.

This better not turn into the debate about James getting beat outdoors. Plain and simple, if he stays on 2 wheels, its over. Reed is fast enough to capitalize on any mistake of James' . He wont beat him straight up but I bet James will loose.... 4 rounds, take the rest home.

1 - Stewart
2 - Reed
3 - Whindham
4 - Poto

Poto will be faster than KDUB and might even beet Reed at a round or two but he will sample the track like EVERYONE who moves up with a ton of weight on their shoulders (RC / STEWY)

I can see Alessi doing well, but I dont think he can run with those 4. Millsaps? If he gets a good start maybe he can hang, but I doubt he will challenge for a win next year. Its those 4 (or 3 with KDUB just being consistent) and then everyone else.

I don't think RV will have anything for Reed or James. I think it will be good racing between KW and RV though.

I seriously doubt it. They have Reed now. They want a championship and Dungey has very good odds.
