A year of testing isn't enough?

Have to admit. I was pretty turned off on the stuff when he debuted it. But it's grown on me. Can't wait to see what they come out with.

I would have thought one month of crash testing with Bubba would have been enough? LOL! Ahem... carry on.

Will this gear line be a success or only last a couple of years? As popular as Bob Hannah was HRP's gear line did not stay around long, but the Flak Jak was a success and continued on after the gear disappeared. And other riders who had gear lines in the 70's/80's (Chuck Sun, Weinert) were also short lived. No rider I can recall has tried to sell his own gear line since the 80's.

The two current successful gear companies with ties to a specific rider (Thor & MSR) have at this point almost no recognizable identity that is still tied to the founder.

Torsten Hallman started Hallman Racing which was later rebranded as Thor and eventually sold to Parts Unlimited who built it into what it is today.

And Malcolm Smith had his gear company of the same name which merged with Hi Point gear and was renamed MSR and also eventually sold to Tucker Rocky.

One big advantage #7 has is TLD as his partner. Probably a bunch of the leg work, such as a dealer network were already set up. With that said, the clothing business seems really crowed.

I think the Seven gear is sick. James having Troy as his partner is a big plus!

Very cool of Troy to help put this together with James even though there is a somewhat conflict of interest on his part since he has his own TLD brand he needs to grow and promote. Troy couldn't be a cooler dude, period. The gear looks tits.

That is surely a big help to have ties to the existing TLD brand with great designers and established material suppliers and connections to have the gear manufactured.

I guess the big thing will be to see if it has a wide enough appeal to be a success.
