Hey guys. So I I've been looking into getting a newer bike for a long time now. As a matter of fact I started a thread back in December about what would be the best used bike to buy. Well a lot of you guys said to try and find a deal on a new leftover dealer model, and I think I may have found that deal. The local Kawasaki dealer has a 2011 KX450f for $5700. It's a brand new bike, but it's three years old. I was wondering if anybody has heard anything about these particular bikes. I know the KX line is very reputable, but I want to know if any of you have experience with this particular year. How's the reliability? Is it worth the money? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Also, I'm coming off a 1996 rm125, so I know this bike will be head and shoulders above that. My main concern is the reliability and if that price is decent. Thanks in advance

One of those just earned a silver at the X-Games; so, there's always that.

On the other-hand: Kawi's current offers on the '13 should have it at damn near the same price as the '11 you're looking at.

I think a fair price for a 2013 450 is $6,000. It does not matter what the manufacture is. So don't settle for a 2011 for just $300 less.

Wait, a '96 125 to an '11 450? "Head and shoulders?" Oh, you bet the back of your head will be hitting your shoulders the first time you click 3rd gear on that bike.

Best advice...wait until you find a new '11 or '12 250F.

Buy a leftover 12 kawy for a little bit more money, way better bike IMO.

Havin trouble finding deals this good. Pro Caliber in Longview told me I'd be out the door for 8,100 on a 13. Would be willing to pay more on a new 12 than a new 13 but I don't think there are any out there.

I just got a new 11 Kaw 450 about 5 months ago for 6K and they gave me 3K on trade for my 09 Kaw 450. IMO drop a tooth on the rear and you are golden. It's going to be a lot of bike coming from a 125....

X2. The 11 still had a wider frame. The 12 is slimmer with a better motor.

Thanks for all the advice everybody. I think I might wait a little while to get a newer model since everybody seems to be finding deals at their local dealers. @mxb2, Thanks for the offer, but unfortunately I would have to buy the bike from a dealer as I would be financing it. I don't have the money to to buy a bike in full right now. But judging by the pictures, you have an awesome bike there. Good luck with it!
