Have a listen as Eli takes us on a lap around Lake Elsinore, he surely doesnt hold back his feelings!

Watch: (and listen) One Lap: Eli Tomac on Lake Elsinore
Check out the new 250 champ as he tours the reconfigured Lake Elsinore MX facility ahead of this weekend's final National of the season.

btw: If "a certain rider" said things like this some of you would be up in arms calling him nothing but a complainer. Whistling

Are you telling us to call him a complainer? Or are you saying we have double standards even though no one has commented yet? Confused for the comment, what's it for?

Myself, I'm not a tomac fan and the video hasn't done any favours for sure.

This is what everyone says they want. It's an honest and undiluted opinion from a top rider. I enjoy the candor no matter who it comes from, but unlike ol' Tobz, it makes me like the guy that much more. Unfortunately no matter what some of these guys say, the pitchforks come out.

I have actually warmed up to RV since his Story of a Champion video came out because you get to see a side of him that he doesn't bring to the races.

Funky little jump at 1.10, I could spend all day just doing that over and over.

X2, Don't know how you can't like him as all he does is work hard, stay out of trouble and go fast. I like that he spoke his mind about that track and didn't try to push the mxsports agenda that all is well with tracks like MMP and Elsinore

Yes, and he is respectable and well spoken; not your typical slack jawed booger eating moron.

Agreed, The promoter is pushed to create the mxsports spec'd out dream track on a dry lake bed with purty fences and ponds and spectator amenities to have it barely make it one year and be threatened to close down or whatever the rumors are. Tomac is telling like it is and I feel the comment is not only in reference to Elsinore. Fringe sport that is not main stream, trying to become something its not. I'm all for SX and MX, just not the combo package.

The way he was bouncing all over the place on different subjects it's like someone was in the back ground giving him cue card questions. I expected the video to be a guide around the track the way Fro does them on race day. The video was fine and I liked his opinions just wasn't what I thought I was clicking on. Not that it matters.

so true !

He doesn't like the track i get that and i won't complain about it, he has an opinion and a valid opinion as do all riders/racers and you could say even more so now he holds the title BUT it doesn't give a great vibe for a viewer and the team behind the marketing must be pissed at this vid - why not give the extra publicity to a team and a kid who won't talk shit about it and actually make the event a little more inviting to a spectator . If I watched this listening to him i would be damned if they would get my entrance fee.

Just said I wasn't a fan, not that I "don't like him" jeezus . In races this year there's other people that I'm going for, not going against tomac.

Sorry I said anything, it was the OP's comment that was curious to me.

You prefer the politically correct, yes man, robot types than someone that has done the work and speaks his own mind?

Not at all, but to pump out a 2.30something video of nothing but whinging that he has to race on it this weekend wore a little thin by the 1.30mark, maybe it was because oscottie pointed it out before I began watching it....

I liked his commentary. It was honest and is what it is.

Please bring back Glen Helen next year cause there will be a spot open. This track is done.

Yes, id much rather be duped into something by some slick marketing and canned interview from someone that will say anything to get on TV.

not at all and I am all for honesty but surely there is a platform for it

it just comes across as very very bad.

you are not going to be duped though are you - this is a video promo and it promotes absolutely nothing aside from a negative attiitude towards the track about to be raced on.

What if, that's just the way it really is?

I'm lost as to why we're questioning the video's content. . . It was a 2 and a half minute video. Eli was asked what he thinks about the track and gave his opinion. Should he have lied or given the canned response? What was the video supposed to be? If this isn't the proper platform, what is the proper platform?

Eli is one of the most positive guys on the circuit. Even when he has a bad day, he gives his take on the race and leaves his attitude out of it. All I heard was it's not a track that is on par with the rest of the circuit and he's going to give it hell either way.

Every week I ask a rider questions about the track, and they answer. I have no expectation that it's supposed to be anything more than a preview of the weekend's track, and they're allowed their opinions. Simple.

I'll be glad when this weekend is over so I can stop hearing about MX Sports' agenda to destroy moto after most every round had big spectator turnouts, 4 live motos on TV, and record viewer numbers on NBC.
