I was to make the "Adaptive class" happen at this years Vet. Nationals, or next years MX Nationals, at Glen Helen...How many would want to see the race ?

These are fine, dedicated, Athletes. They have overcome what many of us fear. Unfortunately, it is the nature of our sport, that to often we loose a limb, or function of our extremities.

The people in charge do read this site, so please, straight replies.
Together we can make it happen.

Adaptive riders...Please post pictures with your replies

I'd want to see it. Personally, I think it's awesome to see those guys out there. It's good for them, good for the spectators, and good for racing.

They held the "Extremity Games" at OWC a year ago and it was amazing to see these athelets climb rock walls, BMX., etc. There was even a guy there on a trials bike doing things that most of us with all our limbs could never do.

It was very inspirational.

I think this would be awesome, and would be really pumped to participate! I think its every one of our dreams to ride the national track! Smile Here is a couple pics of me riding with my buddies out here in AZ at Ocotillo Raceway.

Man...I haven't flown that high since the 80s...and that was sans motorcycle !

I would support it for sure. There is a guy in my area. not sure exactly where he is from. I would see him at D34, and MSC, tracks as well as Dilla ,Tioga, and I think even E-town. He had one arm , had a custom bike , and would race in whatever class he was at in points. He was awesome to watch, especially in the whoops.
I lost 90 % of the motion in my right foot, which pales to what these guys deal with, but , it gave me even more respect for them then I already had.

Hook em up! It would be great to allow them the opportunity to do what they love on that level.

Next time anyone goes out to ride...try it with one hand on the controls.



I have...it is something I can't imagine having to do always.



An inspiration to say the least !

Not only do I ant to make this event happen...I want to find the HOTTEST trophy girl as well !

That guy is amazing! I have my right wrist fused and I know how hard it is for me to ride compared to before my fusion surgery.I can't even fathom how this guy does it! All of these "adaptive" guys amaze me.

[color=blue] Hey man, not sure how bad your injury is, but you might look into a hand lever for your rear brake. A buddy of mine did that a few years back, after having to have his ankle fused. He got the idea from Mick Doohan, a former GP Road Racing champ. Once he got used to it, he was just as quick as before his injury, if not more so. If I remember corrrectly, he operated it from a thumb-lever on the left side. Something to think about, anyway...//TJ [/color]
