I'm in a bad mood
Sorry

Had this tropical storm Fay sitting on me for about 36 hrs now
It's dumped 30" (thirty inches) of rain
Flooding everywhere
Have to dump the pool every few hours to prevent flooding
Staring at radar all day looking for it to move
Worrying about flood, electricity, trees falling, roof tiles flying off and windows getting smashed by flying shit

I live at the bottom of the triangle jutting about above Melbourne

By the way, it's not heading out to sea, it is sitting there getting stronger and going to come back at me

Good luck...I lived through the Floods of Laguna Beach, in 1997...got pretty bad, but all worked out. My house stayed in one piece.

My old man just called and said that there the river is about 4 inches from covering up my dock. Maybe my house will wash away?

Dave, Ive been out most of the day getting my son moved back to college,,, catch me up on whats going on? The storm still sitting there? We had that in Houston, I think it was tropical storm Allison that parked on Houston and we drowned, and BAD. The medical complex was devastated even.

Dang fella, hope its not too bad over there.

Look at that radar loop, it's been on us since yesterday, and spinning on top of me like that since midnight last night
I have a flash flood warning until 2:30am, and that was put into effect about 9pm yesterday...24 hrs ago

I did the earthquake zone thing for 12 years, I'd rather have hurricanes any day of the week.

Just don't live on the coast live Dave.

I feel for you Dave. Here in Orlando we've just had normal showers on and off for a day.

People don't realize what tropical storms are like. Think of sitting under a steady water hose for hours.

I don't remember what year it was - I think about '78 or so - but I was working on a drilling rig in Texas City when a tropical storm dumped 42" of rain on Alvin in one 24 hour period. It was a week before I got home - every road in south Houston was under water. It was the most amazing thing I ever saw.

Another time, I was having a femur fixed in the Houston medical center and we had a tropical storm that knocked out all the power and flooded everything for miles around. My dad waded 1/2 mile sometimes in water up to his chest to the hospital.

Hurricanes are bad - worse, as far as wind damage. But the incredible rain from tropical storms is sometimes just as bad.

Hang in there, it has to stop. Sometime.

Hey Dave, hang in there.

Stay safe and think about me in mid January.

-50 degrees and 40 mph winds blowing 4 feet of snow at our house. Gotta kick the door open to break through the ice and snow building up against the house. Then we go out and blow snow for 4 or 5 hours.

Come in, warm up and repeat until it quits....

Not as catastrophic as what you are experiencing now, but still sucks pretty bad..

Just came back

Whew...

Got all kinds of water frozen in my freezer...gallon jugs, little water bottles, ziplog bags with ice and then water....

Have a generator, big jobbie I bought from Fishbone, but can't do much in the middle of the night.
Have no idea how to wire it into my electrical panel

Unless its a huge generator do not try to hook it up to your electical panel unless it is allready set up for that.
