I just want to make something clear because some people seem to be struggling, the team name is spelled "Gariboldi", not giriboldi or giraboldi or garibaldi. The fact that Leib spelled the team name wrong multiple times in his essay that GuyB posted just makes me laugh because it really makes him look like an idiot when he can't even spell the name of the team that he might potentially be spending the rest of the series with.

What?
Seriously?

Europe has no consumer market? Motorcycles are just handed out like gummy bears?

Why do you think Parts Unlimited has expanded into Parts Europe? I sell to Europe, I do business in Europe.
I work with race teams in Europe, no problem.
Some of the largest and most successful companies in MX and/or motorcycling are European...Twin Air, Motorex, Silkolene (Fuchs), Alpinestars and so many more.
I have been sending riders over to race the German SX for quite a few years now, and have only had minimal problems, mostly personality issues. These guys make really good money in a short time and not once have I had a problem with a rider being paid.
JT$ has raced all over Europe for years, making very good money during the off-season. Weston Peick, over the last few years, has been racing in Germany, Greece, Holland, Finland and other countries in off-season

So I really have no idea, and I don't think you do either, of what you're talking about

Think mototrader was just trolling, no one could be that stupid?

As far as this whole deal goes, i'd say there are much better ways then throwing up a poorly written story on facebook. Taking both stories with a grain of salt it just sounds like a bad deal turning publicly sour. Reminding much of Pourcel in USA anyone? Although he didn't write a one sided story on his own facebook...

Let me guess, you haven't been to Europe have you?
And may I ask, do you think an American team has never screwed a rider?

In the field I work in, we have dealt with both American and German large companies, and I promise you the German companies were a dream to do business with compared to the American ones. In my experience anyway.

Also please tell me which countries are socialist. Do you really think all of Europe is socialist?
There are some great economies and some rubbish economies in Europe. But you can't paint them all with one brush

If the story of trying to supplement Michael's income by pushing engines on the team is true it's a shame. I hope this isn't another story of a moto-dad getting in the way of a decent situation and now making the rider look like the dick.

Some of you guys are unbelievable. The motor that Beursfoon said they would try was not mine nor was there one dime to be made. Go back and read the post and get your information straight before you make assumptions.

Unfortunately there are plenty of people who believe the crap they are fed by the likes of those guys.

The truth is he liked the team, the team liked him, he likes the bike. The team wanted him to try the bike at Italy and had no expectations. He showed good speed especially considering he rode the bike for a short period of time on Weds only. No one on Giraboldi expected him to ride to his potential. He was 1.9 seconds off Herlings in free practice and 2.8 in timed qualifying while they were chasing suspension settings. He will be home tomorrow and will be going back. When it's all worked out I'm sure the team will put out a press release.

Thank you! But 50% of the season is done already, he has not much time left so I assume we can't really see him this season.

The Euro is doing effing great now, ain't it?? Germany is the only reason that whole place isn't in the shitter.

Most of the nordic countries enjoy prosperous living because they're oil rich.

The slavic nations are border line third world countries with the exception of maybe Russia, in some parts.

The amount of red tape required to start a business in a place like France is ridiculous

The UK is turning into quite the gutter, if you consider the british isles part of europe..some do..some don't.

Yes, The euro zone is in trouble, partly because the struggling economies did not follow the "red tape" associated with being an EU member

Germany and France both have very strong economies considering what is going on in that region
And they both have strict business rules

If you really think a rider being screwed in a contract deal is a reflection of Europe you are high
Lots of riders in the states have been screwed before too

So have you ever done business in Europe?

You point out Europe having issues with their economies......have you ever looked in your own back yard?

By your logic, riders have been screwed in the US and the economy is in the toilet.....therefore nobody should do business with the US! Fair?

I am not saying Europe does not have its issues but your statement of "why do we keep doing business with these countries" is painfully uninformed, arrogant and close minded

There is so much bullshit in this story but lets be honest americans think Leib is right and europeans think Suzuki is right. Not knowing how bad character Leib has, all americans are trying to support him but he is lying to a lot to the people he is not knowing and also to the people he is knowing really good. Behind every disrespectful man there is a father and mother who didn't teach how to respect people. Yeah maybe Suzuki is not the best team but they worked really hard to get everything right. It is little weird to start lying about John that he is in Italy when it's not true. Only he has problems with every team. Isn't that weird? And now trying to point out how how he lost to Herlings 1,9 and 2,8 is ridiculous. Fact is he didn't finish any of the races. And as I understood he flew home. Most of the racers in europe don't see their families months and can't go home. But seems like little guy is going home every time he starts to miss mommy. All the teams are bad, all the people are bad around him, but why not spend time here, training? Conditions are way different in states so if he wants to come back, why he went back home? To relax by the pool and hug mommy?

Thanks for stopping by.

You used the line, "Behind every disrespectful man there is a father and mother who didn't teach how to respect people." Then there's the second half of your paragraph.

Hello, pot. Meet kettle.

So would it be fair to say that the majority of european pros make more $$$ than the AMA/AMA national pros?

Or is it a worldwide affair where our professional riders do not get paid?
