His season so far is going from bad to worse two bad finishes again today when is he going to score some points? Whats he struggling with is the field deeper than he thought or the tracks are just not for him? Any thoughts

Such a nice down to earth guy, plenty of talent, but seems we all overestimated his speed, any adaption (food, culture, etc) should have happened at this point? If not sick or anything. Not that complicated? His results in SX prior to this showed he has something left to prove there, but maybe MX at this level wasn't his cup of tea...

Pressure to perform. He got burned out and is over it at this point.

Mmm would he do better in the us outdoors or is he just not where he thinks he is speed wise

Along with fitness, Iv'e heard a couple of times from people that have talked to him that he's struggling with the tracks. I must admit I'm surprised he hasn't been able to improve by now - at least in the top 15. I appreciate he's not a top MX rider but I don't think he's doing anywhere near as well as he potentially can. The British GP may suit him a little more but unfortunately that's a fair way off. Not sure he'll last much longer on these results.

Really do hope it improves for him though, he seems like a cool guy. One can't overstate how hard it must be stepping into a new series, cultures, new "everything" really... in this way.

He's a 2nd tier MX rider at best. Was over here and is still over there. It is what it is. His talents are in SX.

We have to accept some serios decline going from one pound to the next, seen with Roczen and Musquin that had to restart, and at least I was WTF, they went from No 1 to top three/top five.

But this "decline" with Jimmy, were some of us felt he would be a top ten guy right away, maybe even a top five midstream for podiums in the end, is a bit too much to come back from? It's not over until that fat bitch sings, but would be strange to see him rise from the ashes...

So we`ll have no American riders left?

Yeah I noticed Adam Wheeler also hint at the same thing during the broadcast a moment ago.

Doc.....I think "most" anyone over here in the states that knows a damn thing about MX , knew James was going to struggle over there. He is a solid 16th - 25th place rider here in the states when it comes to MX. In SX....it's a different story.....we've seen some great finishes from him here.

He's a great kid.....but lets call a spade a spade here. We heard dudes on here say he was good for top 10's , top 5's and could possibly be sniffing the box? THAT made me laugh when I read it. Why?.....because I knew what he was capable of over here. Over there......I was expecting him to do a little worse than here just like any rider when they first cross the pond......which is exactly where he is finishing.

The team he is riding for basically just needed a rider on the bike. Jimmy was available. It gave him some life / racing experience. Even though his finishes haven't been great , I'm sure he'll remember it in a some what positive note for the rest of his life.

I'm one of those that felt I had a clear vision in the crystal ball, and needs to be reminded of my own stupidity, my judgment is horribly clouded though, being a former Mass citizen, damn I have even raced "with" him in Mass (Crowhill 2011) I of course went 1-1 + 1-1 in the Mickey Mouse class (old and slow people) while he got his ass beat by Dowd in the Pro-class, he came back that race after his arm injury, and in general whipping the shit out of those bikes really looked like a future top guy. My mistake. Anyway, despite him having poor results in the Outdoors US, we saw him shine for a few laps, even Geico thought they had a new guy coming, it was maybe a expectations thing, rather than he's been proven which made me figure a top ten (at least)... But I have been wrong so many times, it's crazy, and my predictions just keeps adding up!

Damn. I wish the guy to succeed. But motocross is not LIFE.

Coming from riding tame US tracks where you are able to ride over the front end wide open in comparison to rough GP tracks where a neutral / slightly back end riding position is somewhat necessary probably didn't help.

Combine that with going from the familiar and comfortable front end feel of the Honda CRF geometry to the rear steering Kawi, that probably took a huge hit to his confidence more than his overall speed. Even if he got comfortable on the PC bike with the testing he did, I'm sure he wouldn't disagree in saying it's totally different than what he is used to. Similar situation with Reed not being able to gel with the Kawi.

Both of those difficulties added together = poor riding and results, throw in unrealistic expectations from fan and teams and you have an unfortunately short stint between a great team and a great rider.

That is just my take. Hope to see Jimmy D at the last Southwick race, even on a scrapper.

Too bad, was actually looking forward to seeing him in the GP of Sweden, even if it was just for a practice.

If it's hard enough for top guys like Roczen and Musquin,it must be a whole lot harder for a lad like Decotis,I'm glad he's not getting slagged off by people,it's tough to take on the other series, fair play for him giving it a shot and all the best for him Smile

exactly he seems like a genuine nice guy,was rooting for him to do well, if he's really leaving the gp's best of luck to him in his future endeavours

Bah, i really hoped he would have done better by now. Hope that he can find his mojo when he's racing back home.

Scored three times in twelve GP moto's (two of which were in Brazil) - 25%

Scored in thirteen of his last twenty-eight AMA National moto's - 46%

Probably the best scenario for both parties.
