So many parallels....
I guess he's riding a bike he's never been on before this weekend. Interesting that he would take such a risk over riding a bike he at least had some experience on.
Either that or there's some truth to him testing another team's bikes while he was supposedly working under agreement with the team that let him go.
There (notice I didn't write their) is so much wrong this I don't even know where to begin.....

Saw him last year in the GP of Italy on the Yamaha and he was fast!
Good luck to Leib.
I don't see it...Please elaborate.
Where is the fun or enjoyment? Seems like a lot of petty nonsense. No written contract, bikes not competitive, potential of getting seriously hurt half a world away from home, working for a helmet or gear bag, really?
For what it's worth, Ryan Mills never got paid and had equipment issues as well when he was over there....
I am a sponsor from Beursfoon Suzuki team and reading al this made me go on a forum for the first time.
It's also one of the things that makes me want to stop sponsoring this sport.
Reading this story above makes me just angry.
Beursfoon Suzuki team is a team that has never had any problems with riders.
You can google what you want but you will not find any negativity our something like that at all about Beursfoon Suzuki.
If you google Michael leib you will find much more.
Also please see the movie about Leib testing the Beursfoon Suzuki in the other topic about this. I am sorry I don't know how to put it here online. can some one please do that? thanks.
To make one thing clear John the team owner is not at all in Italy.
So I don't know why Leib is telling something like that, because that's a lie.
Today I spoke with the team owner at a local race in Holland Nieuw Vennep http://www.motocross-nieuwvennep.nl/
He was there with his team and rider Mike Kras and his two sons to race.
I spoke to John about what has happened., because for me as a sponsor this is also bad publicity.
John had a fill with him about this matter.
Before Leib has been on the racebike he already told that it was to slow. John thinks that is weird if you have not been on the bike yet! I agree on that.
Leib his dad and some friend are building engines and they told to the team last week that they have to buy a engine of them and even more engine or else Leib would not ride the Gp.
That's a way of selling that I have never used.
Also the team owner showed me today some banktransfers he made to Leib.
They already had paid him salary and even out of the agreement as a extra because Leib wanted that.
They have paid extra money for his trainers in the USA while Leib is in Holland? and that's why the team try to get there money back.
But the team owner let me today also see some emails from Team Gariboldi that they admit to team Beursfoon on email that Leib already have been in contact with them a week ago and Leib telling them that Leib was free with no paperwork or agreement. team Gariboldi has send it to Beursfoon Suzuki because they did not know Leib was committed to Beursfoon and they wanted no problems between each other.
Well I have seen the paperwork or agreement even Mr D Leib was on the emails about the agreements.
Team Gariboldi also have send John a email that was send on email from Leib himself to team Gariboldi last Sunday, and that was the day before team beursfoon and Leib went to Italie with the teamtruck.
Team Beursfoon found out about Leib trying to make deals with other teams and also because of the story about they have to buy there engines or else he would not ride made them to make a decision.
And that's why they turned the truck to go home, and thats why they end the co-operation with Michael Leib.
And that is the true story!
But please lets us all just end this story and try to learn something about it.
If you have a plan! stick to the plan.
If you have a deal stick to the deal, and don't go for more and more.
Because at the end you will be left empty handed.
This way of behavior has stoped already to much teams and sponsor in this sport.
And lets be honest we realy need the teams and people like me to sponsor the riders and teams.
And if riders keep on doing this there will be every year less teams and sponsors in this beautful sport of us.
Thank you for reading my story.
You last sentence is pure bigotry.
I have had many bad dealings with Americans . Do I presume all Americans are bad ? Of course not !!
Joins a team and wants the team to buy his dad's engines is what I'm reading. If the emailing of other teams is real......case closed.
Englishman is spot on.
btw, where do you work Motodork?
Pit Row
The team agreed to try a single motor and potentially bring in Jim Lewis from Merge Racing if Michael felt so. Michael knows full well what it takes to compete against Dixon and Factory KTM. He raced the Dixon bike and his equipment here is comparable to FC, PC, Rockstar. The simple fact is that he had a bad feeling when he left here last month and he told himself that if it was going to be a train wreck than he would not stay. John had been flip flopping on purchasing a test motor for two months. When Michael got there their race motor was not avail to try for 1 1/2 weeks, and not till after France which the team wanted to race.Tthe two days he rode it last week it was slow and developed problems at 25 minutes. Michael had asked right when he got there if John had given the ok to order the test engine. John would not answer. Michael finally got the answer this past Monday after having driven 15 hours to Italy.
Michael did call around while he was there knowing that if his bike was not going to be what they promised then he would just as soon come home. He had nobody interested in him when he pulled the plug Monday. The Gariboldi test came about after. I nor anybody could blame him. In Michael's mind he gave Beursfoon the chance to do it right.
You talk about the plan well everyday was unorganized. One day they drove 3 hours each way to a track and Michael could not ride because he did not have a license! Michael was doing 2 35 min motos a day here before he left. Not one day could he get that done. Beursfoon's lawyer is indeed at the track and others stirring it up.
Michael's pay? He had to ask to get paid and frankly he was getting paid very little.
Contract, there were emails back and forth but never was a contract written up. If there was one written up you can be sure that provisions about engines and suspension options would have been included. Bersfoon held up Michael's entry today Friday at the track having told Youthstream that there was a contract.
As for me selling the engine that is not true. It was not my engine nor would anybody here have profited from it. I am not at liberty to say anything else regarding the engine other than it is 100% on par with Dixon and Factory KTM in Michaels's and others opinion. In the end it's all a shame for both sides. I truly believe that Beursfoon feels like they have competitive equipment. Michael is 100% positive that that is not the case.
This is a Reality Show script that's worthy of an Oscar or Emmy!
Interesting, but, I'd put Miguelito on a CRF250R RIGHT NOW!
Why? He's got history on that scoot & it's been A HUGE PART of, if not THE, Brightest Moment(s) in his career.
As Heir Flomeister wrote...this kinda crap happens ALL too often.
Micheal IS GUILTY! Yup, he's Guilty as Hell!
Guilty of being Desperate.
Guilty of believing in the slightest chance or opportunity...namely, believing in himself.
Guilty of hoping for a change of fortune.
Guilty of never quitting.
Guilty of taking ANY Deal that might get him an opportunity to race.
Damn, he's such a Guilty little Shit!
The Team Beursfoon Owner is probably guilty of many of the same things; yet, the history & the pattern of behavior amongst many of these team's & their owners kinda speaks for itself (And let's NOT Bullshit ourselves into thinking this is just a European or Moto thing: this crap happens at the highest levels of sports, entertainment & business in general).
To BOTH parties: If it's a deal worth making, it's a deal worth writing down.
I'm disappointed in and for both parties & I'll let ya in on a little secret: If EVERYONE involved took a moment to be TOTALLY honest...they'd say the same. They're jus...Disappointed.
I hope they all go back to their motorcycles & just "Go Ride"...
Let it go.
Go Racing.
