The models have flipped back and forth so often, you'd think they worked for Obama (HAR!)
At this point, they're guessing
Seems like no matter what, I'm gonna get some, but no big deal
It'll be a low Cat 1 hurricane or a tropical storm by the time it's near me
Look at this model composite.
Each line represents what that computer thinks it will do.
Like the ones bouncing around like pinballs? Look at the AVNO (light blue w/triangle)
It looks like Cape Coral and Sarasota are going to get hammered.
Flmxer Dave.. isn't that hitting close to your place? Maybe a little north of you but do you have to evacuate? Or is it going to be weak when it hits ??
How long will that storm take to push the rain and crap north to say Steel City?
Looking at some of those fine projections show it sending the storm up and thru Steel City. What are the odds of monsoon rains there again for the Nat weekend?? 3 years in a row?
The right side of the fwd motion is always the worst side.
The projections change by the hour and never focus on the line, hurricane winds can extend about 50 miles out from that line, tropical storm winds can extend another 30 or more.
Go look up hurricane charley....I see the same thing coming, just weaker

It is a voluntary evacuation.
We have two rental units on a few acres on Sanibel Island right on the beach on the western most point. I worry about those units and my boat more than anything.
Hurricanes are some tough works of nature. In the early eighteen hundreds a no name storm cut three major passes through what was then one large land mass from Sanibel to Boca Grande. It created Sanibel, Captiva, Upper Captiva and Cayo Costa islands and the passes have depths of sixty plus feet. Just one storm did all of that and then in 2004 hurricane Charlie created a new pass in the center of Upper Captiva separating what is now Upper Captiva and North Captiva. 50 foot tall Pine trees were spread across the bay for miles. Amazing how strong these storms can be. Stay safe everybody.
Sorry
Everything cool?
Quite overcast and drizzly rain for now
