FI 450's, what to buy?

I am looking to pick up a used 2010-13 450 in the next couple weeks but torn on what to buy. My biggest concern is reliability. I don't mind regular maintenance that the 450's require but I would like not not deal with design related isssues.

I had my heart set on the crf but have read alot about tranny issues, false neutrals, etc. I just dont want to have to deal with issues such as these. The kaiw and yamaha seem to be pretty built-proof from what i have read.

Any advice from you guys? Is the crf tranny issue that common? I have done alot of reading on the other bike and havent found many real issues with them? Any specifc makes and years that are real problems?

You can also Go onto Thumpertalk.. They have forums for each different bike.. Someone on there will tell ya what you wanna know

I am real happy with my 13 CRF450. Haven't seen or heard of any tranny issues, and there are a lot of them at our local races.

i fix a lot of honda trannys and kawis still break pistons, the yamaha is the most depenable 450, period, and you get the odd suzuki with hard to trace electrical problems, stay away from those,,

thanks for the input. I have been looking for a yamaha but the newer yz's dont seem to sell as well as the other makes.

I really want to snag this but like pete24 said the reliability of the kawi has me a little scared.

they are good bikes but stock pistons crack, throw a vertext in it and it will b ok
