So I am a NYer all my life, just tired of living here and being priced out of a decent life. The schooling in my area is shit and all my kids are being held from their potential thanks to the elimination of honors programs in their school !!
My wife has friends who lived in Austin and say it was fantastic, would move back in a heartbeat but they just found more money in NYC in their specific professions.
We are Just looking for someone who lives there and can give me some info and maybe some guidance. My wife and I plan on taking a week to go down and check it out and do some interviewing see what our options are in late July maybe august. any help would be GREATLY appreciated. feel free to email me

thank you much
Jeff

Traffic sucks.
If you voted for B.O in the last election or even lean that direction, please stay in NY.
If not, come on down.

Moto-wise, Austin isn't as good as Houston or DFW, but there are some pretty good places to ride. Cycle Ranch is the best but it's about 75 miles from Austin. ADVMX is good, and there's a new place near Bastrop that is supposed to be good but I haven't been there yet.
There are some real beautiful places around Austin, although the topography tends to be a little arid for my taste. I like green, lush areas, but lots of people like things to be drier.
Watch out of allergies - Cedar in the winter and Oak in the summer is very high.
There's a lot of night life if you're interested in that. And women. LOTS of women. No, let me rephrase that - LLLLOOOOOOTTTTTTTTTTS of women. Not that I ever noticed.
