Probably just went home. I believe she was just in the states to qualify for Loretta's and Hangtown just happen to fit the schedule.

Edit: After a quick check I see she was suppose to do the other WMX rounds and like dazz said is now hurt. Someone from Honda must have mugged her.

Well, regardless of whether or not the red helicopters paid a visit you can bet someone at Honda will be breathing a little easier at the next race.Laughing

Hate to hear the news though and well wishes to Miss Duncan for a speedy and 100% recovery!

LOL!!!!!! I've had 4 corvettes with the last being a Z06. My favorite cars! But I do agree newmann, we need more racing and I do believe the 2 stroke would create better racing than the runaways...at least have them in the 450 class....as I think the 250 class this year is some awesome racing.

Isnt it ironic that Yamaha pulls out the modern MX 4-stroke bike first and everyone blames Honda, and Courtney races Yamahas? Anyone else see the irony of the anti-Honda 2-stroke posts or am I making too much sense? Can we send all those posts to Dumgeon?

kiwifan, Honda's a big company, which makes it a big target. Yeah, there are a vocal few who think it's really smart to blame Honda for the demise of two-strokes. I'd guess that most reasonable people can see through it. At least I hope so.

Not bashing Honda but have a question...... Honda stated they were committed to the environment so they were going 4-stroke only. Then Mercury makes a 2-stroke that is more environmentally friendly. Then Honda makes a DI 2-stroke that was more environmentally friendly.

Whatever happened with that?..... Isn't it already proven that DI 2-strokes are cleaner for the environment?

Someone please correct me if I am wrong. I am asking this as a serious question. Please enlighten me.

Bullcrap. Put the top 5 on smokers in either pro AMA class, and you'd only see smokers on the podium. It wasn't until they stuck guys like RC on the thumpers that they started consistently winning.

Couple of reasons big H gets dissed.
They're the only major mfg. that has stopped making 2 stroke dirtbikes (S and K simply don't import them into the US).
Honda has actively campaigned to have rules skewed toward 4 strokes in multiple forms of motorcycle racing.
Their founder, the late great Soichiro Honda disliked 2 stokes.
Biggest company = biggest and easiest target.

It's a bummer too, as they are still the overall leader in the motorcycle world.

Mr. Soichiro Honda, the founder and president of Honda always hated 2 strokes and publicly stated this many times since the very beginning in the 50's. There are articles ON the Honda site saying this with direct quotes. It's no secret. He hated 2 strokes 20 years before there ever was an EPA.

It has nothing to do with EPA. Mr. Honda just hated 2 strokes. He is on record saying he couldn't even stand the sound of them. It was personal and he spent millions trying to displace them right from the start.

From 67-72 Mr. Honda spent millions trying to develop a 4 stroke that would compete with the "new" high tech 2 strokes. He failed miserably. The ONLY reason he ever made 2 strokes was because he could not compete otherwise.

The very introduction of a Honda 2 stroke was AGAINST Mr. Soichiro Hondas will by a couple of rogue Honda engineers who without telling Soichiro, designed, built and took a 2 stroke to a local race! LOL. He as not happy, but it was too late...

Here are several great articles if anyone cares. A couple are direct from Hondas website concerning the development of the cub and the early super cub. He forced these models to be 4 stroke when 2 strokes were easier to build and more powerful.

2 strokes are cursed.
True! lol. and that curse had a name. Soichiro!

He was a very stubborn and persistent man. Not a great student at all in school, but very persistent. He accomplished much in his life, and as much as he hated it, his engineers over the years developed some of the best 2 and 4 stroke bikes made including revolutionary, ultra clean burning DI 2 strokes in the early 90's that WON race easily, but of course never saw market.
