Why does it matter? Because the kid has a long way to go and a lot to learn. The kid is killing it right now for sure and I've said before that he is the only dude who makes the Yamaha's look cool. The kid rips but he is still young and has a lot of room to grow. Give him the season and then start the talk about JGR and the "what if's."

He's young and has his whole career in front of him and still has a lot to prove.

I'm talking about him going to a farm team such as pro circuit kawi (just an example) thats where this kids learn.you don't agree?
He is on Yamaha's version of a "farm team." Yamaha doesn't have an estabilished team like they did with Yamaha of Troy from 1998-2005ish. The MySplash/Star team is the stepping stone comparable to PC or Geico. If he gets a contract offer from one any other established race team then he needs to take it. I don't know how long his deal with Yamaha is good for but he has been on Yamaha's radar/outlook since he signed with them as a B rider.

What I have been getting at is the fact that he is 4 races into his career and has a lot to learn/prove in order for JGR to create a "farm" program.

I say Weston Pieck, and Dean Wilson, a pretty good combo, Pieck is getting stronger and stronger in SX and Wilson just needs to rebuild a little again and back to true form, he can be a top 5 guy outdoors. He used to smackdown on bam bam outdoors on 250f's and can get their again.
Just don't know if either of these guys will chance their careers on Yamaha.
Transworld said the next generation 250f Yamaha is going with the backwards motor of the 450, if this happens, oh my gosh, could be a rough go for Yamaha long term.
JGR would have to consider long term if they want to sign good riders.
You're assuming that somehow its the backwards engine that is causing the "supposed" issues on the Yamaha. How do you know the frame is not the issue...and that the next generation frame which is supposed to accomodate the backwards engine better will fix it? Thus..not so rough long term or short term.
