I think it would make worlds of sense to snag up cooper webb and make a 250 spot for him with a contract that takes him into the 450 class. Look at what KTM did with Kroc. The kid has a lot going for him. Time to stop just picking out of a good group but grooming their own. Just my opinion.

Picking out of a good group? Brayton and Grant are anchors. But I do like the idea of support for Cooper, extra support. I'm sure they could offer Cooper something even more optimal than he already has, for a fraction of the cost of their expenses now. I underline expenses because there's no ROI on their current riders.

And I know that there is a good relationship between JGR and Coop. He rode their stuff before his Yamaha deal.

Is Webb not signed up for next year with a team??

JGR should sign him. I hate to say this but in stick and ball sports if your players aren't producing for you, sometimes the blame lays on the coach, in this case manager. Whatever the case is, I'm don't know what they have going on there but hope they succeed soon.

If Webb isn't locked down for next season I wouldn't be surprised if Mitch or larocco hasn't approached him. Bet roger has even thought about it

Oh im sure he is getting a lot of looks but the yamaha backed team isnt producing tons of champions these days. So the title contenders get in and comfortable with other farm teams and win titles for them or produce great results. JGR needs to take a chance and groom him all the way

JGR should drop Brayton and Grant and go for Wilson and Wil Hahn.

Has that 2014 yz hit the us yet?

Ac 292 hasn't raced a moto and has a contract that will get him through the 250 ranks. Webb and him are on par with each other.

Roger needs another young 250f rider. I'd like to see him at the KTM tent. There's just something there that says Roger wouldn't be hugely interested in Webb. I could be wrong. Just a gut feeling.

I say Weston Pieck, and Dean Wilson, a pretty good combo, Pieck is getting stronger and stronger in SX and Wilson just needs to rebuild a little again and back to true form, he can be a top 5 guy outdoors. He used to smackdown on bam bam outdoors on 250f's and can get their again.
Just don't know if either of these guys will chance their careers on Yamaha.
Transworld said the next generation 250f Yamaha is going with the backwards motor of the 450, if this happens, oh my gosh, could be a rough go for Yamaha long term.
JGR would have to consider long term if they want to sign good riders.

Isn't the lastest rumor Factory Yamaha is coming back and fielding a team of their own. This would be where Webb should be if this true. J Martin would also be a perfect fit for the factory team.

Going 250F might have been a better option for the team when ya think about it. They aren't getting factory parts and they could probably hire a couple of guys with a chance of winning for what they pay one 450 guy.

Too bad that they aren't a KTM team. If they were I'd say get Baggett for next year and put him on a 350.

Hadn't heard that but it would be a great thing for the moto industry.

And yes, JGR needs a spark of any kind.

Cooper Webb is for real, and yes if Coy and Co. could make a move now it may move JGR in a fresh direction...

Webb is a square piece of shit in business?

Webb used to ride for JGR on a Honda 150. I'm sure if they wanted a 250 program they could have kept him.

Well, maybe JGR can sign Tomac and they can win a 450 championship in the next three years.

Why does it matter? Because the kid has a long way to go and a lot to learn. The kid is killing it right now for sure and I've said before that he is the only dude who makes the Yamaha's look cool. The kid rips but he is still young and has a lot of room to grow. Give him the season and then start the talk about JGR and the "what if's."

He's young and has his whole career in front of him and still has a lot to prove.
