It's almost a right of passage the hate RV is getting now. When one guy starts completely dominating no one like him. MC, RC, now Villo. Being a Dungey fan, I didnt like RV all that much 2010-2012. But how can you not appreciate the show Ryan is putting on now? He's a animal out there, carving up that track like a turkey on Thanksgiving. Getting all crazy on it like it said something bad about his momma. Am I a fan? You know it

I do think it's possible RV could run Ricky's pace at times, but your Stewart comparison is laughable. James does not even slightly look like his old self. Whether its age, injuries, skipping so many outdoor seasons or a combination of all of those I don't know, but gone is the aggression, scrubbing and raw speed of the old Stewart. RV is a bad dude and will end up as one of the best ever, but some of his fans do him a disservice by constantly bragging about how great he is.

Good point.

All of this who's better shit gets really old. Just sit back and enjoy some damn good racing.

Btw RV and RC has raced 1 time before and guess who came out on top on a 250f? Smile

I am not saying he hasn't but prime Kevin Windham beat RC, not Bret Metcalfe.

I would say 2006-7 RC on a 06-07 Bike still easily beats RV in sand and mud, he is a far superior rider in both conditions that's unarguable even to a noob like you. Give 2006-7 RC the 2013 Suzuki on perfect conditions and RV is one of the guys that can beat him, but RC could find speed in a week and then raise you one. He would avg 25 second wins after standing up for the last two laps and most importantly he made Chad Reed quit MX, RC has pulled over 1 minute on Chad plenty of times and 2011 Chad was winning the MX title till Millville, 2013 RV is faster than 2011 but its far to early to say fastest ever maybe 2014 RV will but I didn't see anything RV do that RC couldn't do.

Also RC had to fight through the pack that race and had CFS, the fact he even showed up speaks volumes for his character, and if your going to use that race as a reference why not the 2007 season were BT101 had 6 overall wins to RV's 5..... BT101 never beat RC in a race........

In my opinion, that was was not just a farewell tour. Ricky kicked ass and won every National he entered. Also, the gap between his last race and the MXDN was not that long.

The point is that it was the end of his career and the beginning of RV's and if you believe that he put the effort in that he put in during his prime you're mistaken. He was done in July and the MXDN was in Sept so he was off the bike much longer than anyone else. I'm not saying I wasn't impressed with RV but to use that one race to imply that RV is a greater rider because he beat him is a little over the top.

Reed didn't race all year and beat RC. Call it like you want, it is what it is. I was a huge RC fan and not a big RV fan. But I was there, in person, and I saw RV make everyone at Budds Creek look silly. Too bad we didn't have Sign Of The Laptimes, because they would have told the true story.
Villopoto beat all comers on that day, on a 250F, in both motos. That has never been done before or since by anybody.

Also, RC may have crashed on the first lap, but he did go from last to 2nd or 3rd if I remember correctly. If you think Ricky Carmichael ever threw a leg over a motorcycle without putting in 100% effort, you are mistaken. Sure, it isn't a fair comparison because of the starting scenario, but that MXDN is the only race we have as a guide when comparing the two riders.

From a standard of "greatness," we cannot really judge until the end of RV's career. I think when his retirement comes, he'll have a record worthy of comparison to Carmichael.

I think it was stated earlier, and I can't believe everyone has forgotten already. Never, never, NEVER bet against RC. (By the way, RV is my favorite rider.) And it was almost laughable the rate at which RV pulled on James. I wouldn't have thought that was possible, ever. As every moto fan on the planet knows, James is no joke.

Yes.

There once was a vital member named R-acer that made people want Stewart to fail also.

Your lack of motocross knowledge is very visable here MX1 and MX2 race each other 1 time at the MXdN.
