Adam Cianciarulo was supposed to make his highly-anticipated Pro debut at Hangtown. Long labeled as "The Next Big Thing," the Floridian made the decision about a month ago to skip the Amateur Nationals and instead hit the big time. Hangtown was his coming out party. Only it didn't happen. Cianciarulo started feeling sick about a week ago and had massive digestive issues. Adam rode press day on Thursday, but was taken from the track directly to the hospital where he spent the night and was released on Friday evening.
What was the culprit? Salmonella poisoning. Team Adam doesn't know where the youngster picked up the bacteria, but it kept him off the bike. What's Cianciarulo's status for Lakewood and beyond? He's out for Colorado this weekend, iffy for Muddy Creek, and might make his debut at either High Point or Budds Creek. Here's hoping that Adam feels better.

Since he hasn't participated in a pro event, can he still decide to ride Loretta's and make his debut after that? That seems like the best option at this point.

He obviously applied for and was granted a Pro license , So racing LL's in anything but Pro Sport or at all might not be possible.

He can race any of the A classes at LLs. He didn't score any points and didn't qualify in the top 40. Unless he has already gone to one, he would have to go to an area qualifier this weekend if he wants to go to LLs. It is the last weekend of areas.

Huge fan of both Adam and Cooper. Can't wait to see them battle it out.

Listen dickwad. The bet was AC would beat Webb at Hangtown. AC got sick never raced. So what is the problem with a double or nothing bet when he returns. Webb will be racing this whole time. So I have a better chance of losing.

My brother got the same sickness when he was younger, and after 2 weeks of the horrible virus he was 25 pounds lighter and extremely exhausted. So 3 weeks may be to little actually

I know they let him out of hospital on Friday but how long was he in for?

I've had it before too and it took a couple weeks to be totally back to normal,I wonder if he'll want to make his debut while other riders have started to get into the swing of things??

I lost 2 stone in 2 weeks, I was only around 9 stone at the time. I was off school for 3 weeks, spend three days on an iv. Raced again after a month, but I had zero fitness at all.

No worries at all. I hate to even bet against Adam, Both Adam and Cooper rode for the team I ran when I worked for Cobra. Known both most of their racing careers. Cooper trains at South of the Border MX, the facility I manage now. I watched him train every week for the last year and a half. Obviously I am biased in his direction but if he was not racing, I would be rooting for AC to win them all. The bet is just some fun with another Vital member. I don't mind waiting, I just want to see 292 and 175 go at it again like tons of battles they had in the amateur ranks.
