I say yes, then someone could level out the playing field and get the two strokes involved in the sport again.

I think yes, it would... however in regards to Supercross, I think that, even though the FELD guys pretty much tell the AMA what's gonna happen, I think that the AMA acts as a balance to the absolute power of FELD.

In regards to the GP's, yes I think that they need an entire new series independent of YS and the FIM.

I thought the AMA and AMA Pro Racing were separate entities. The "protect your right to ride" AMA sanctions racing on the local level.

I have never cared for the way AMA is so inconsistent on governing the sport. I believe pro racing would do fine without them

I don't know about Youthstream but no, the riders would not be better without the AMA but there does need to be some changes.

They are separate entities.

500guy-You'are fishing big time here but I'll nibble. Better for who: racers, fans or promoters?

In any event we need AMA Pro Racing and the FIM. It is better to have a separate technical body involved IMHO.

The second part of the question is what do you replace the AMA and FIM with? The promoting body?

You could have "one step forward, two steps back" dealio.

The sport needs them regardless of what you think. much like cycling needs the UCI - everybody thinks they can do it better.

Stop and think why nobody has or does.

My humble opinion as a 37 year old racer and fan

Might be better off without MXsports.

Could someone just start a world championship with their own version on FIM, same with and FIA and cars?? is there some law? or do the FIM have to be involved no matter what?

Because that was working so well before when the AMA ran the show. I sure enjoyed being up at 1am to watch a 2 week delayed outdoor cut up by 10 commercials.

OK, first motos on Fuel. A non HD channel. Then second motos on 2 days later, up till midnight watching. It's more than just TV schedules. It cost $ 300 for your pro license and $250 to race. MXsports charges about a half mil for the tracks to hold the race and the don't contribute to the purse. Wow RV walked away with about $3000 in prize money for his 2 moto wins. Thats PATHETIC!!!

WHAT we need - is an American Motocross Association.
