Can't help thinking it says everything about the mental state of people round here, when a thread about bands you hate scores three times the responses of a thread aboud the bands you like. And in a shorter time.

Sad really.

Good point. How about a thread for the greatest musician to ever walk this earth? I will start. Steve Vai.
Commence flamage.

Can't say I've heard of him but if you like him that much who am I to decry your opinion?

I think there are too many people who have had flashes of brilliance to name a single person. But the person who first invented the way we notate music has a halo round his head for making so much genius possible.

You gotta admit it is crazy what some people try to pass off as music anymore! Of course my parents were saying the same about the shit I favored in the 80's.Laughing

I am surprised no one on here has not named Ted Nugent as the greatest musician yet.

Greatest? That's a stretch, but "some" of you guys in Sweden must swing a little different? He did put on a good show back in the 80's. Entered stage left off the top of the speaker stacks swinging from a rope wearing a loin cloth.....

I'd say Muddy Waters for the greatest of all time.

Certainly the most influential, and a prolific songwriter. Without Muddy Waters would we even have rock and roll?

And his stuff still sounds fantastic to this day. But greatest of all time? Too much weight for any one person's shoulders, I think.
