To clarify, AlliSports kinda through us all for a loop when they waited until inbetween 1st and 2nd motos to tell us (on their twitter) that the 2nd moto stream would only be avail to those who have the "verified" TV providers.

I was surprised we could watch the practice stream, as THAT was the one we knew all along that it would only be for the verified accounts.

The 2nd moto deal was a bummer. Hopefully that can be remedied for future broadcasts?
How in the hell isn't Direct TV a provider? They are the largest dish provider aren't they? Or, am I an idiot and missed seeing them on the list?

Honestly, I don't know why you'd post a reasoning for this DC, anyone with half a brain knows you didn't do it on purpose, and have been busting your ass to try make things better. Sometimes shit happens, but until you're charging people for it, much less taking money out of your business budget to provide free content, i'll just say thanks and watch it when I can.
This^ No need for an apology. The coverage is better this year than ever. I checked it out early when you posted the other day and I have directv but knew my parents had verizon so I just used their account. I was able to watch all 4 motos and this was really one of the only weekends where the races aren't all live on TV anyways!

Dtv and Comcast(NBC) have always had a nasty relationship in the past. No surprise.

Gang, I was out on the track all day and my phone was dead in the second motos. I had no idea that there were issues with access for some viewers online in the second motos. I am very sorry for the letdown, I am truly sorry that this did not happen the way we all wanted it to.

We are trying to deliver as much as we can and when there are issues like this, no one is more upset than I am. I am very sorry for the letdown here.

My boss would of fired me for a bullshit excuse about a" dead phone". A professional should be well prepared. I can't believe you are using this excuse, but again we should know what to expect

My Guess is they sold MXSports on both motos live online on Ali in their contract.
They then used the second motos as a marketing ploy & to reward those already using providers that they had some sorts deals with (NBC Sports).
Basically pulled a fast one.
I would assume via TV/Online stream contract MX Sports thought both motos would be on the same media access platform -that WE all could see/view/access. Just as the first motos were in previous years and were today.
Sounds like MXSports did not know they were going to limit access to the second motos to selected service providers.
This post isn't to be argumentative or even disagree, just provide additional thought to your theory here. If the first moto is aired on Fuel, that is a channel that is mainly carried by satellite providers and NOT carried by the US's largest cable provider. The jury is still out about the issues with what happened to the stream on the 2nd moto, but it was pretty much only Comcast subscribers that could watch the stream.

I guess my thought is that this wasn't a bait and switch, I don't even know what to call it. One way or another half (at least) of your audience was going to be unpleased and miss either the first moto (if not streaming), or 2nd moto streaming. I am not a fan of streaming, I feel like I am back in the days before VCRs and unable to record a show and if you want to watch, you have to sit there for 6 hours on a weekend, ain't nobody got time for that! But if it was streaming or nothing, you know I will watch what I can.

DC, on behalf of the pack of guys throwing personal attacks at you, I apologize. I remember the nationals getting NO coverage. I remember seeing one race a year on Wide World of Sports and waiting all year for that. I remember MXA in hard copy being my only source of racing info other than going to the races in person. Getting any national 6 hour outdoor race on TV or even streamed is no doubt a huge task with little reward. Thank you for all you do and the effort you put in to get what you can to these ungrateful bastards (and the few of us that would surely buy you a pint for your efforts).

I'm not sure if anyone else said this or not but I downloaded the NBC sports extra app on my iPad and was able to watch with no problems and I didn't even have to sign in with a cable provider, and I have direct tv which isn't listed..all I did was hit play on the main screen and it played a kawi ad then started playing, if I tried clicking any other links is when I started to have issues..I know it doesn't help now but hope it helps someone out for later motos

You must have worked for a real asswipe! I would never fire anyone over a dead phone, in the age of smartphones it happens all the time. I imagine DC's is ready to explode on a National day

I was so pumped thinking I could watch all the Motos online, but of course that was to good to be true because of NBC, then apparently it's suppose to be on Rogers sports centre in Canada and I found it.... But of course it was basketball highlights

My thoughts exactly exsuzukidealer. Sounds like "My homework was eaten by my dog!"

Nobody in your chain of command can inform you of what is going on DC? I find that as an unacceptable excuse for your enterprise/corporation. People should be repremanded and held accountable, and I hope you do do that. Please don't pass it on like everyone in our federal government.

The real problem I see is that the corporate sponsors will be upset, since you didn't get their the product out as you intended.

Someone in your media corporation should be fired.

My phone died and it had nothing to do with the streaming, it meant I didn't know there were issues or confusion. I have a lot of responsibilities at these races. I will try to focus on keeping it charged more in the future, unless I've been fired here.

Any & All dis-satisfaction to do with ANYTHING MX or SX is your fault!

(I read that in MXA)

You should have known.

ps-I've also read that you promised these guys that their cable providers would carry Fuel & NBC Sports at No Charge & at ALL TIMES.

Epic FAIL!

Soooooooo Disappointed!

I have NO idea why you are complaining. Did you pay for a service and the service didn't live up to what was expected? NO it was FREE. Complaining for something that was free. Seriously? We should all be lucky we even get to watch the races live. Motocross is a very small sport and I'm thankful we even get the opportunity for free same day coverage.

No one should be fired at mx sports. Why? Because mx sports didn't host/air/stream the races. NBC/Alli sports did. It was NBC/Alli sports' fault for making it difficult if you weren't able to watch all 4 motos like I did.

You don't have room to complain. Just because You're cable provider sucks and you couldn't watch all 4 motos doesn't have ANYTHING to do with DC. How about you go complain to NBC or ALII? I watched all 4 motos perfectly fine. Let's use our brains a little here. DC has a real life race to take care of. REAL LIFE. Yes, something you may not have heard of.

Here's the deal:

Some people were planning their day, yes their real day, around this national. They, too, have a life, and wanted to plan according to DC's announcement that ALL moto's would be streaming live all day. They invited friends over to watch, hangout, party etc.....

When their cable provider wasn't listed, they were screwed. Their party was screwed, their plans were screwed.

Get it?

Yes, some people have a REAL LIFE, and this was part of it!

DC its all your fault and you ruined a lot of people's lives! Woohoo Just kidding! Laughing

I actually was so impressed in the quality of the first motos but so disappointed I wasn't aware you had to sign up for the second motos or I would of done it earlier in the day. The whole thing about being live and free was very misleading and just wish it was explained that we had to sign up and I would of.

I still believe the Nationals are heading in the right direction and thankful we can watch them the same day at all!

Hey DC, I saw all 4 motos on my computer linked to my 70" tv just fine. It was great to get free MX coverage.

Just to let you know, If I couldn't get the second motos, I would have done something else. Bitching at you would never have been on my list since over the years, it is pretty clear that you want to improve every aspect of motocross for the riders, teams and fans. Keep up the good work, and ignore the idiots!

lol.

people here are so shot that they're interpreting your phone dying as having caused the coverage problems. Yup. A 4g mobile hotspot was sending out ALL the data. Hopefully we can get a kickstarter together for your 575,000 dollar data usage bill this month.

THE STREAM GOES DOWN ALL OVER THE WORLD BECAUSE DC'S PHONE GOES DEAD. THIS IS A PISS POOR EXCUSE. THE FANS DESERVE BETTER ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY WERE PROMISED THE SECOND MOTOS. I WANT TO DAMN RAINCHECK.
You Sir are an arrogant ass. Some respect for those who are trying to make the sport better would work much better. Since you paid zero....... What possible rain check could you feel entitled to ?

Same here. Picked one and it asked for the provider. If I clicked on the other the commercial played then the stream started. I bought the iPad to HDMi adapter but it would not show on the big screen for some reason. Works on other sites but not the NBC Sports Live feed.

Anyway I know people are all upset and didn't get the feed as expected but in the grand scheme of things it is a small hiccup and not worth getting that worked up about it. Next week will be better.

Thanks to DC for coming into the lions den to explain things and looking for answers to make next week and beyond better.

I've got the adapter but when I hook it upto to the TV I get sound but no picture on the TV. It worked for videos from here on Vital and other sitse but as soon as I connect to the NBC Sports site or Alli Sports the picture goes away and I get only sound. Picture streams fine on the iPad so I don't know what is going on.

ok so one of the four things you listed failed..... adapt and conquer! you still had hangout, party and the etc's.

original plans screwed, yes! party screwed, no! my glass is half full....

wtf do you do when the interstate is shutdown b/c of an accident?

A. sit and wait for it to be cleared. (in the broadcasts case substitute the word fixed for "cleared" hour, week, two weeks, who knows it's free)

B. find another route to keep moving (in the broadcasts case try something else, live timing, partying, hanging out, etc.)

some of you act as if you are going to go into convulsions or seizures if you don't get your fix of "hard core" moto.
