Wouldn't be much of a surprise but i think Musquin is going to be right there in 250's all year, much more so than last year. I see him being 1-2 with Blake Baggett alot of the time.
450's I would love to see James and Chad come out and show everyone they still have it, and I think James will as long as he stays off the ground (or really, until he fails to stay off the ground). I think this summer will be the last time Chad races AMA Pro Motocross unless he has a much better showing than he did in SX. It's gonna take him being a constant frontrunner and winning motos and an overall or two for him to come back next year, IMO.

Dungey. All the way. Stewart will be fast but inconsistent. RV will be the biggest challenge the RD, but I think RD will win. RD was getting faster and faster all year long at SX, and the last few times RV won RD was right there behind him. With the longer motos, and two motos at that, I think RD will be the one winning this year. I think it's ridiculous that anybody thinks that Dungey will finish third this year.

And he was strong in the 2011 outdoors season against RV. Without a chain incident. . . you know the rest.

You mean his gas incident at Freestone? I believe his chain came off in SX, which gave him a DNF (which would have REALLY tightened up the points had it not happened). There was also the bizarre issue with his RMZ at Southwick that caused him to start nearly a lap down from the field, and STILL finished 3rd overall on the day. Dungey is a beast. People don't give him enough credit.

Last year on SX.com I was insistent that Rattray would be the real surpise last year on the 450s and a lot of people gave me flack for it. I know he got hurt early on but never really did what I was expecting later in the year when he was healthy. Hopefully he gets off to a better start this year.

My picks are definitely Baggett and Villopoto.
I have picked Musquin for the title, but I'm certainly not picking Rattray - I think he will surprise people and run up front in a few races but he won't be in championship contention I'm pretty sure.

I did forget about Zach Osborne when writing the original post. Again he will be there or there abouts but am unsure whether he can break the "Big 4" (Tomac, Bagget, Roczen, Musquin).

In the 450s I still believe deep in my heart that a 100% fully fit Stewart will beat anyone; but when there are people like RV and RD that will be running at a similar pace, this is unfortunately when James rides over his head and gets injured. Let's hope the bike, team, fitness and preparation all round is perfect so James can concentrate completely on the racing and make it the greatest outdoor season ever!

Obviously being a Brit I am biased, and that's the beauty of our sport lol!

The surprise in the 450f class will be Barcia.....I expect him to match RV's outdoor speed. I can also see Alessi finding his old corner speed this year, pull out a few moto wins and an overall and be in the hunt for the Championship,

The 250f class is once again loaded with talent....The surprise might be out of Mitch's team.

He kind of reminds me of K-Dub. He's just smooth. Doesn't ever look like he's out of control or blistering fast. He doesn't look like he's going nearly as fast as RV at times, but at the end of the race he is still RIGHT there. He's smooth, calculated, and rides with a cool head. I think he is going to have a long career because of how many injuries he's avoided. Since he turned pro, I can only recall him having a broken collarbone in the middle of the 2012 SX season. Are there any others? His crashes are few and far between, and they're mild for the most part. Villopoto, Stewart, Canard, and Millsaps I believe have all shortened their careers with the injuries they've had. Dungey, barring a drastic accident, I think is bound to have a very long and successful career.

the surprise will be Dungey , beating RV alot more than people think , most people here think RV will run away with it , i think outdoors Dungey is the better rider , and i ll go for Anderson running in the top 3 a lot this yr as a surprise to ,

I'm in shock, not that you think BB4 will go 24-0 but that you are not giving the same to Stewart. I hope you're right and Stewart is in it to the end and if he ends up on top great because he's one of the 5 or 6 fastest guys. BB4 very well could win out again but no way is he going 24-0 off the couch against the current field..

I think RV will come into the outdoor series far better prepared than 2011 when he last rode-and won it. That year he was overwhelmed with all the media crap after winning the SX championship for the first time and it coming down to the wire. He was also very sick at Hangtown.

This year he wrapped it up early and had an extra week to test for the outdoors. He will certainly handle the media load better after his 3rd championship, and it's pretty unlikely he will be sick at Hangtown again.

It will most likely be The Summer of The Ryans. I think they are both fantastic and find the respect between them very cool. Hoping for a great outdoor series.

Yes, again Anderson is a name again that slipped my mind - not because he is not good but because there is so much strength in depth this year. I really liked what I seen from Anderson this year, especially come the end of supercross. He has all the credentials and the style, and the bike behind him so I think this could be his make or break summer.

Stewart won't win one overall, allessi won't win one moto. Ryan's will be the fastest with guys like barcia, canard, Wilson, and reed stealing some moto wins.

Jlaw showing up at all. If he does more than step on the property I will be surprised. Each moto he starts, I will still be surprised. I hope he kills it and makes take out passes on all the big shots.

Alessi running the winners pace over 50% of the time would also rule. I want Alessi to be the Champ this year.
