stupid question alert: would it be too dangerous to have a sand section in the middle of the start straight? something like 10-20 yards long, then back to dirt before the first turn?

The section before the finish line looks very interesting. I hope they don't change it when they're building the track; it seems whenever there is something quirky like that they end up just changing it completely..

I doubt it would be very safe to be honest.

Its difficult to keep tracking straight in sand so it would spit the riders out in all directions, unless it was compacted perhaps, but there wouldn't be much point to that.

Isn't that more or less the exact same start as when Trey and Morais got hurt? Left handed first turn into a rhythem section followed by a 180 left before a triple?

Was not the track that got Trey hurt. Was the tuff block cover that he snagged and rolling the triple!

I dont know, sure looks like just hugging the left down that section is way better. At the least, the guys going down the right side will drift wide when they make the right before the finish so as to miss that last little table before the finish line.

Hope the whoops are deep...wonder if bunny hopping over the the small jump at the end will be a possibility.
